Phunky Rabbit Records welcomes a new outfit to the label. Tanto Project are a collective of very talented musicians from Israel. Phunky Rabbit is delighted to introduce a new vocalist to the label. Lauren Yvonne is involved in many art and fashion projects in New York City but her biography is best described by close friend Elizabeth B. Zebrowsky in her New York Sparkle Girl blog:

I was surprised how quickly the original track came together but because it was instantaneous the happy vibe is present in the vocal and it fits so well with the backing. Yvonne nailed this in her own style and the spoken vocal parts complement it superbly. On the remixes Myk Dubz (aka Michael Wardemann) provides an excellent Deep House mix. You all know I have a passion for Deep House and Myk has produced a really cool version of the track here. I love it. Next we have Rampus in his usual Disco House style which is so popular at the moment. To finish off the release Myk Dubz does this in style will a chilled out Reprise String mix which is perfect for a Cafe Del Mar sunset.

PLACIDIC DREAM FT YVONNE - ONE KISS - PROMO

Phunky Rabbit opens 2017 with a debut single from blu inc. blu inc (aka Greg Mitchinson) has already remixed for the label and received great popular feedback. Here he gives us a soulful uplifting house track entitled 'Dreams'. Plenty of old skool flavours are here to be found in the production.

Here is a brief bio Greg wrote about himself:

blu inc produce house music & also remix / produce tracks for other artists. We combine the classic side of house with the current sounds of house music today.

On the remixes we have a Disco House vibe from Rampus who is well in favour around the world at the moment and finally James Womersley gives us a solid hard mix which will work great in the clubs. Again an old skool twist here with mashed up vocals.

DREAMS - BLU INC - PROMO

Here at Phunky Rabbit Records we always try to help new producers get recognition in the music world. I would like to introduce you all to a new young producer from Durban, South Africa. As you all know I am a massive fan of the South African Deep House scene and here Soulmate (aka Mvelo Hlongwane) has produced a really cool deep vibe. Palesa (aka Nqobile Thandolwethu Qwabe) delivers a very raw but direct and very soulful vocal. 

My remixers were queuing up to work on these vocals so there are many various mixes included in the package so there should be something there to suit all tastes. I also did a remix in a deep style under my Placidic Dream Guise. Rampus provides a solid Disco House vibe. Lucius Lowe makes his debut on the label with a quality Soulful House mix. Myk Dubz gives us 2 remixes, the main one being a solid house vibe then another which i think he has created a new sub genre of Avantgarde House with a late night live experimental take. Another newcomer to the label but a guy I have known a long time now on the House circuit, Jay Cosgrove, provides his Chug Soul Brother Remix which will work well in the clubs. Finally Soulmate produces a chilled out Sunset Reprise just to finish the proceedings in a cool late night vibe.

GREY PAPER - SOULMATE FT PALESA - PROMO

Well have I got a Miami sampler for you guys. It has been 4 years since I did my last Miami WMC package 'Stay With Me' featuring Jermaine so I thought it was time for another. We have set the bar high this year for everyone else to follow and this package is set to smash the festival to pieces.
This time I team up with Sharon (Francis) who has already worked on a single with me, 'Sinista' last year. Here I wanted to make the track have a very 'live' feel to it which I am sure I managed to do with the help of Sharons' soulful vocal on top. This could work anywhere in Miami with its universal feel good vibe.
On the remixes I am so happy Sudad G could take some time out of his busy Schedule to do a mix for the package. I love Sudads work he never fails to deliver the finest quality phatt fluffy and powerful synths. He always manages to find the right tool for the job from his big collection of vintage synths. Rampus gives us a quality Disco House mix but has also provided a rare Deep House mix as a bonus which I thought worked well to finish the whole package off. Myk Dubz offers a techy deep powerful house vibe and integrates the vocals so well into his magical mix. Jay Cosgrove (Sequential Records) goes into MAW 90s' mode style with a really heavy styled mix that just says BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!
I think we have covered all bases with this package from the big venues right through to the poolside and beach parties. I not only expect all the tracks to be used in Miami but to be pounding out in all the best clubs all summer long..... and beyond.

MYK DUBZ - Däshno EP PROMO

Phunky Rabbit Records are proud to present another single by producer blu inc (aka Greg Mitchinson). 'My Love' is a Soulful House track with inspiring vocals and Greg's own style with cool piano parts to back the vocal up. On the remixes Lucius Lowe gives us an outstanding Soulful take. I am so happy to have such a quality producer working on my label. I just know his mix is going to do so well. Next George Von Liger gives us a Progressive House mix which will do very well in the big clubs. It has been a while since George has been on the label and it is with great pleasure I welcome him back on board. James Womersley remixed on Greg's last single on the label and here he gives us another Old Skool style house track which is proving to be very popular again. Last but by no means least we have three Deep House mixes by some young South African producers. Dal Sanno gives us a really well sculptured mix and I am loving his style. Soulmate had a single out on my label with Pasela recently which was really well received world wide. Here he keeps in the same simple but effective deep style for his mix. Finally it is a pleasure to welcome Basani  on the label with another different Deep House mix.

BLU INC - MY LOVE PROMO

Phunky Rabbit Records proudly presents Soul Fortune feat. Angelina-Touch. Soul Fortune are Molebogeng Maponya and Karabo Moyaha. These young Deep House guys are making a massive impact on the House music scene at the moment with their own brand of Deep House music. In this production they use a really cool deep backdrop with really cool Rhodes and synths. They debuted on Phunky Rabbit with their highly acclaimed remix of Placidic Dream feat. Ronnie Canada’s Ive Been Betrayed. Here they do their first single for the label and what a track it is. Sexy you said, well Angelina Royals vocals don’t come any sexier than this. She delivers a superb sensual vibe all over this track. On sax duties we have Mark (Stan) Bonwick where he does deep warm sax parts that work well with the vocals. Percussion is provided by Danny Perez who is riding really high at the moment with his new label Native Music Recordings. Malc East from Phunky Rabbit did the final production on the track.
On the remixes first of all we would like to give a warm welcome to Magic Soul (aka Pricha Maponyane). Again we stay in Deep House mode and what a remix this is. We are loving his style here as the track evolves on its deep journey and he makes great use of Angelina’s sexy vocal. Then we move right through the gears into Progressive mode with Phunky Rabbits co-owner Bjarne Sorum with his Rampus production outfit. Here he gives us a solid track with disco overtones. Keeping in the Progressive mood Sandro Valentino gives us a real banger. Sandro can do nothing wrong at the moment and everybody is loving his style. Here there are so many elements happening from House piano to Synth/String hooks. Finishing off for us is another favourite of the label BB White. His take is a more Soulful one with an acid bass twist on it. Again the theme is strong with clever hooks happening around the vocal.

TOUCH-SOUL FORTUNE FT ANGELINA PROMO

Phunky Rabbit steams into 2013 with a track by one of the most famous house production teams on the planet, Groove Addix (Sean Grasty and DJ Rikky Rivera) where they team up with fellow New Yorker Chanelle (Charlene Blair) with a track called ‘Thankful’. I have big plans for the label in 2013 and there could not be a better way of kicking the year off with this little beauty. The Addix provide a strong musical backdrop then Charlene sings one of the most complex vocals I have ever heard over the top. Vicky Martin helped with the vocal arrangement and also sang some of the backing vocals with Chanelle.

On the remixes again I have spared no expense. First up we have Secret Soul (DJ Tim Wright). This is a really intricate mix which follows the style of the original but offers a really strong alternative. Next we have Phunky Rabbit regular Sudad G with a strong version in his progressive house style. Again a Phunky Rabbit favourite, Sandro Valentino, offers us another progressive twist that is sure to be a club favourite.

THANKFUL-GROOVE ADDIX FT CHANELLE PROMO

Phunky Rabbit proudly presents its Miami WMC 2013 extravaganza with Placidic Dream featuring Jermaine – Stay With Me. For the past 6 months the Phunky Rabbits have been hard at it to bring this years WMC contribution for you all. Phunky Rabbit boss Malc East teams up with fellow mancunian Jermaine Dalrymple for ‘Stay With Me’. Jermaine who co-writes with Telema Jack (Jointly known as the ‘Underachievers’) sings a really cool catchy soulful vocal over Placidic Dream’s backing. I wanted to have a live feel on this production so I jammed all the instruments myself. When I set out for this WMC sampler I wanted it to be the one to beat but even I could not imagine how good the quality would be. Mind you it is not surprising as half of the remixers are label owners in their own right and the rest have been my main go to remixers for the label since it first started. 
The first remix comes from Phunky Rabbit regular Sandro Valentino. Sandro just keeps on improving and has now reached a very high level of production. His take just buzzes and fizzes excitement into Jermaines’ vocal and here we have a mix which could be at home anywhere. In fact due to dj interest already stating there could be a good chance this should go mainstream I have included a radio edit of the mix as well. Next we have another label favourite Manyus. He takes us on a disco trip combining old skool with new and this is just going to smash the dancefloors. Again the production is outstanding. Speaking of label favourites Sudad G hits us with a remix that I think has been his best work so far. I was totally blown away when I heard this mix. He moves from his usual progressive style to a soulful version of the track which has so many cool elements happening in it you need a few listens for it all to sink in. Next we welcome onboard a very good friend of mine DJ Le Baron. Marco has a style of his own and it is shown off to the max here with a soulful mix that is also solid making it a must for the clubs. I would also like to welcome Downtown Music’s A&R manager Mark Faermont. His take is again a solid affair that just oozes class. I would like to thank the Soulplate Record guys for doing their last remix for the foreseeable future on my label as they will be concentrating on their own label now. I don’t need to tell you about their style as you know them so well. It a deep soulful affair that is strong as well as mellow throughout. I love their work and I have heard some tracks they have coming up on Soulplate and they are amazing. Next again we have 2 very good friend of mine Groove Motion. The guys have been bouncing about the soulful house charts for the past year but here they go into Nu-Disco mode with an absolute cracker. I expect this to go very high in the Nu-Disco charts if not all the way to the top. Just outstanding cool production. Speaking of label owners another very close friend of mine DJ Joio owner of Dejavoo Records goes deeper that deep with his mix with his usual cooler than cool vibes. Finally but never least we have Corvino Traxx. He makes a bold move by working the vocal into a Tech House vibe that really is unique.
So there you have it. As always it is all about the music and if you are going to Miami enjoy yourselves.

STAY WITH ME-PLACIDIC DREAM FT JERMAINE MIAMI WMC 2013 PROMO

Here at Phunky Rabbit Records we are proud to present this package with Sandro Valentino feat. Debbie Sharp – Back To Love. Sandro needs no introduction as he has been with the label since the start and has been at the forefront of all activities. Here he does his first original track with American soul vocalist Debbie Sharp. Debbie has released records since 1985 in a variety of soulful styles and has continued a very successful career.
On the original track Sandro absolutely smashes it on the production in his ever growing solid club style. Debbie’s soulful vocal on top really blends and compliments the backing so well in a way that only she can with a very strong and to the point vocal.
On the remixes Sudad G. & DJ Geehan work their usual magic with a stomper of a mix. As always the production is spot on and there are really clever elements happening including a piano riff to die for. Again this mix would fit happily in any club or bar. Corvinno Traxx gives us his usual alternative style which again I would would expect to do well in the clubs.

BACK TO LOVE - SANDRO VALENTINO FT DEBBIE SHARP PROMO

Phunky Rabbit Records was set up in Q1 2012 by House producers Malc East (Placidic Dream) and Bjarne Sorum (Rampus, Prodigal Sons and Sanchez & Rey). Bjarne decided to leave the label in October 2012 to follow new ventures leaving Malc in sole charge of the label and i wish him well. Although the theme is mainly soulful on the label i will also be mixing some Deep,Tech and Progressive house in as well. I already have many established artists and also encourage new producers to help them on their way. Please feel free to leave feedback on the comment timeline.
