The Mexico City electronic sphere continues to be a fertile ground for innovation, and Juan Harrison, known as Tkuz, consistently proves to be one of its most compelling cultivators. With his forthcoming “Volta” EP on the esteemed Kyma Komplex imprint, he adds another robust chapter to a discography already celebrated on labels like Controlla, Bonkers, and Melomana. This new collection finds Tkuz weaving together the driving energy of trance, the robust framework of techno, and the gritty textures of industrial music into a cohesive and forceful aesthetic. The package is further amplified with reworks from Ruksby (SXDNS256) and Jorge Galindo (SXDNS450), promising a well-rounded release that showcases multiple facets of his production prowess.

Directing our attention to the "High Version" of the title track, Tkuz constructs a formidable and immersive world. The foundation is a relentless, feverish rhythm section where metallic percussion clangs and reverberates with a life of its own, creating a tense, almost physical atmosphere. Into this industrial forge, he introduces fragmented, speech-like vocal snippets that act as cryptic transmissions from within the machinery. A truly brilliant counterpoint arrives in the form of a sustained, ethereal pad that drifts high above the tumult, its serene and mournful quality providing a breathtaking sense of scale and emotional depth. This calculated fusion of raw rhythm and atmospheric depth crafts a deeply immersive listening experience, demonstrating Tkuz's command over both power and mood.

The “Machine” EP from Aurum Miles and In-Link presents a fascinating study in contrasts, building an electronic world where rigid, calculated architecture is infused with a palpable, human pulse. Its foundation is one of powerful low-end frequencies and intricate, sharp percussion, over which synth layers shift and mutate, creating a landscape that is at once technologically advanced and deeply organic. While the title track establishes this core aesthetic, the EP's centre of gravity decisively shifts to its concluding piece, "Two Lines," which also receives additional interpretations from remixers Tevateas and Stylics, the latter contributing two reworkings.

Premiered here, "Two Lines" emerges as the collection's compelling and complex heart. The track weaves a unique fabric from Post-Punk, Synthpop, Rap, and Trip Hop references, resulting in a distinct Indie Disco cut that feels urgent and introspective. This musical tension mirrors the lyrical content, which paints a portrait of profound internal conflict. The narrator addresses a powerful, almost mythical "faceless beast," a force that simultaneously calls to them, offers a form of salvation, and incites resistance. The plea to "save my soul" and "put the past to rest" in the chorus is undercut by verses filled with doubt and frustration, questioning the saviour's timing and declaring, "I'm sick of standing by your side." This push-and-pull – between the desire for surrender and the instinct to fight back – gives the track its gripping, emotional charge, making it an unforgettable journey into the struggle for self-worth and liberation.

 The French duo Kimshies, hailing from Lille and Paris, unveil their first EP on Polaris, marking the label’s 37th
 release. Longtime fixtures on Polaris’ radar, the pair deliver an explosive two-tracker blending analogue warmth,
 retro flair, and pure club energy. Following acclaimed outings on Dust & Blood and Roam Recordings, they continue
 to refine a sound driven by raw groove and sonic intensity.

 The title track, “Smacking the Beat”, kicks in with crisp drum machines, a thick analog bassline, and robotic vocal
 hooks that drive its irresistible groove. Distorted synths and shimmering arpeggios give it a vintage edge, while its
 evolving structure fuels peak-time intensity and late-night euphoria.
 
On the flip, “Orgastic” explores deeper territory with a pulsating bassline, hazy vocals, and hypnotic tension. Layers
 of filtered synths and precise percussion create a sensual, immersive atmosphere, proof of Kimshies’ ability to fuse energy and emotion with finesse.

With this debut, Kimshies affirm their identity on Polaris, vibrant, organic, and unapologetically alive.

French producer Darlyn Vlys makes a striking return to Pets Recordings, following up his 2023 single 'Surrender' with a new two-track release... this time, in search of 'Salvation.'

The EP captures Vlys’ sharp sense for atmosphere and groove, balancing emotion with precision. Title track 'Salvation' channels a robotic electro pulse, its dark synths and throbbing basslines surging with controlled intensity... a dancefloor current designed to spark movement and tension in equal measure.

On the flip, 'Dominion' takes command with marching rhythms, growling low-end, and sharp percussive detail, cementing Vlys’ ability to merge human instinct with machine soul.
