Phyllis Fischer New Haven Native born and raised... I've been singing  since  I was 3... Growing up my mother always played music.... Funny thing is I wasn't allowed to sing " Grown People" music... It never stopped me from singing Mary J. Blige "You Remind Me" or Faith Evans "Soon As I Get Home" and  SWV (Just To Name A Few) they were big NO, NO's,  But I loved them too and would sing their music too... My first time singing in front of my family and friends 1995 at a Black History Assembly. I was so nervous, but I did it and everybody cheered,... From that point on I wanted to be a singer.
