Her Crack Mix doesn’t stray from this expectation as Zetina lays down peak-time heat from the likes of Nikki Nair, TAAHLIAH and Leonce. “This is a high BPM mix,” she says. “Techno for people who can't get into techno. A smattering of acid, some Chicago shit and some Belizean shit – plus some other surprises. This was such a fun mix to do and I hope everyone feels the energy!”

Sterling Juan Diaz is a Dominican American DJ and multidisciplinary artist hailing from Uptown New York City. He is known for his distinctive approach to music, exploring the fringes and nuances of various genres from around the world, within the NYC underground scene, and his roots. Drawing from many corners of dance music, he crafts dynamic sets that evoke a sense of connection and exhilaration, with an ear like no other. As a recent Dweller Festival alum, Sterling is considered one of the most consistently exciting DJs in NYC. His performances are known for their open exploration of energy, dancefloor rawness, fluidity, and community. With a deep love for the art of DJing, Sterling is dedicated to continuously growing and evolving as an artist, all with a clear NY flair.

Recognise is DJ Mag’s monthly mix series, introducing artists we love that are bursting onto the global electronic music scene. This month, we speak to New York’s purveyor of mutant club sounds, LSDXOXO.

A rare artist in the current electronic music landscape, LSDXOXO has built a fervid following whilst making music entirely on his own terms. Although he’s been putting productions out under the name since 2014, this year’s ‘Body Mods’ introduced an urgent brand of mutant Baltimore club music which, although inspired by the genre, comes off as anything but pastiche.

Across its seven chopped and skewed sample-heavy tracks – which range from 130bpm to 160bpm and span sounds taken from Baltimore club music, as well as ghettotech, hardcore, footwork and more in their frenzied 30-minute assault – ‘Body Mods’ introduces the strongest release from a producer whose artist bio describes him as “deliciously confrontational".

For his Recognise mix, LSDXOXO has delivered a more linear sound than much that has come before from him, showcasing another side to his dexterity as a DJ/producer. All cut with references from pop culture, the ferociously propulsive mix ranges from rhythmic, percussive techno built on rolling kicks, through thunderous peak-time techno into jacking machine music built for the basement.
