After operating as an improvisational, live only act, @bazaltnorway spent February 2020 in a studio in Berlin finalising their debut EP “Koeatgo”. In many ways this represents a milestone for Bazalt, who up until this point have been working solely with live performances and improvisation. 
Still, the track bears all the distinct signs of Bazalt in the way the come across live; Energetic, polyrhythmical, rough and industrial techno from modular synthesizers. 

The EP comes with several of Bazalt’s friends’ interpretations of the track, adding perspectives and dimensions not so commonly present in Bazalt’s own universe;

PP005 Sees Fredrik Bekkaasen and Monodogue remixing each others tracks from their previous release on Physical Pattern. 

Monodogue takes Fredrik's tracks in a totally new direction, Lunatic Asylum takes a soft and mellow turn with rhodes and guitars, and No Exit opens up with drones and screeching effects, before it evolves into a fully fledged journey of electronic music. 

Fredrik Bekkaasen takes Monodogue's previously trippy and slow tracks, and turns them into loopy, hard hitting techno for the floor that Mr. Bekkaasen does really well.

Norwegian duo Bazalt releases "Koetago EP" on Physical Pattern imprint. Monument premieres Monodogue's remix of the title track from the release, that will be out on May 28th.

MNMT Premiere: Bazalt – Koetago (Monodogue Remix)

Originally not intended to be an album, but when a corrupted hard drive resulted in loss of years worth of work, these tracks were rescued from the hard drive, and magically mastered by Neel, some of the tracks were even mastered from shoddy mp3's.

The tracks goes from deep ambient to leftfield techno, better enjoyed at home rather than in a clubbing environment.
