AnnGree's 'The Bass Drive' gets dark and cavernous with gritty bass, tough beats and menacing melodies with loads of cool key changes and varied bass patterns, influences of 'Jilted Generation' era Prodigy can definitely be heard here, a tune you should be armed with ready to obliterate the dancefloor!!!

Dapz remixes AnnGree’s 'Give Your Love To Me' into a timeless slice of jungle, opening with a sweet vocal intro and 94 style steeping breaks before quickly sliding into some full on tearout amen breakage with old skool style warp bass & pianos. Oldskool in execution, but with plenty of Dapz' modern production techniques and subtle twists to make for an all out anthem, a perfect track to finish off your set in style, while equally good as an opener or a peak time roller to get things lively!!!!

For those in the know, Dapz is one of the finest producer/engineers in the Global D&B movement. With an enviable back catalogue of absolute anthems. This is his debut EP on Physmatics Music, after some excellent remix work for the label. It’s a case of pulling out all the stops here over four tracks that will ignite any dancefloor!!!
'Life' is a bubbling fiend, dark and funky with influences of Jump Up coming through with nice bouncing snares; handle with care as dropping this badboy will definitely be explosive!!!
'The Dead' is a malleating monster that will separate the wheat from the chaff, unleash this one in the booth and you'll soon see who the real headstrong are, menacing just isn't the word!!!
'Inna De Ghetto' Ft MC Kryptic takes post Grime sounds and places them in a killer D&B context. A warm vocal intro teases the listener before flipping the script for some tight bassline action with distinctive old skool jungle vibes.
Finally, party time arrives for the insanely infectious 'Say Yeah' with its elastic like super funky bassline, a perfect way to round off a solid EP and an enviable debut on Physmatics, setting the standards & going forward without a doubt.

We begin this epic sojourn with the title track from the EP 'Dues' opening with snippets of mentasm and humming bass, the mood then switches to some futuristic minimal skanking, funky distortion and effectively sparse pads with a gangsta/hip hop style vocal refrain. 

'Ever Know' soothes things in with reverberating dub chamber style FX and a silky saxophone melody that continues throughout the track set to a backdrop of hard techy synths and rhythmic drumfunk beats.

'Don't Stop' is another genius blend of the subtle and the heavy nuances of Drum and Bass, a mixture of pitched up/down and vocodered vocals hint at influences of Future Garage and IDM as does the shimmering ambient soundscapes that somehow mix in complete harmony with the classic funky Neuro bass stabs and tough beats that refuse to be pigeonholed. 

Finally and indeed what a finale! 'Clutch' is a rough diamond, a rude boy ragga bomb of a track, Reggae rhythms collide with Eastern percussion and some retro techstep that draws from the golden era while dragging it into 2015. The ‘Finish duo’ showcase their stellar production skills and ability to innovate over these 4 sonic gems, if you appreciate legends of the scene such as Optiv & BTK, you won't be able to resist being drawn into these superbly crafted tunes.

Old skool junglists will remember the classic anthem 'River Nijer' well. Originally produced by Gappa G & Hyper Hypa who team up  with Dapz, to give this two decade old tune the 2015 treatment. Fear not, this is a faithful amen rinse out that is as much 1994 as it is 2015. The breaks crash and collide in true ruffneck fashion and the bass is darker than a moonless midnight, even the staunchest junglist will not be able to resist brocking out to this one!!!

For the flipside, Dapz & Whitex throw down 'Double Helix' a trip to 1995 with spacey swirling pads, gunshots, sesame street breaks and Reese bass that would have Darth Vader cowering in defeat! This one’s for the rudeboys and rude gals who will be skanking into the dawn to this deadly dose of Jungle/D&B!!!
