I am so glad that making music has maintained our friendship and kept us together. Some people maintain friendships through going out to eat, watching sporting events, doing family things together, etc. I make music with my friends.

This is the 6th song posted from the album I started using demo tracks given to me by Wou-Wou & the Wormling during the start of the pandemic! This song was inspired by the mass shootings that plague the United States and the lack of progress this society and government makes toward increasing the safety and well being of all. I was recently surprised by an article in support of the “good guy with a gun” solution in a mainstream liberal news article. It’s basically the wild wild west out here still, lol.

My niece and her husband have been looking after them in their difficult times, and this was part of an outing....

"Metropolis" draws much of its aesthetic inspiration from Fritz Lang's famous 1927 German science fiction film of the same name as well as various sources from comic book canon (especially Superman and Batman). A lively and rather bombastic piece, this track is meant to conjure up images of a sprawling, hectic, dystopian metropolis. Put on a good pair of headphones and enjoy!

This is a piece about emotional exploration and discovery. I developed it at the same time as this poem and the two ended up essentially inspiring each other:

Under a broken sky we plant our seeds
and watch them slowly bloom.
In a gentle breeze we spread our wings
and break free of the womb.

In the dark night we lift our gaze
and dream of the beyond.
In the morning light we take a step
on the unforgiving ground.

The seasons change.
The tides rise and fall.

we realize we're not broken at all.

DJ Tiesto - In the silence I believe

I'm a 35-year-old software engineer and amateur composer living in the beautiful city of Seattle. I have no musical training or background at all. I taught myself to play piano in August of 2014 and then started actually composing in January 2015.

I focus on crafting atmospheric, evocative pieces that take my listeners on a journey through both time and space. Although my focus in the past 6 years has been on cinematic ethnic music (celtic, middle eastern, medieval), I'm now starting to venture into the orchestral realm and couldn't be more excited to mix some of my ethnic sensibilities with more traditional orchestral elements.

Every piece you hear on my cloud is 100% original music that is composed, recorded (using VSTs), and produced by myself. No remixes, no covers (unless explicitly stated), no loops, and absolutely NO prerecorded "musical phrases" of any kind (with the *very* rare exception of an occasional vocal phrase to lend some added color and depth). I manually compose and record every single note of every instrument you hear ... whether it's a violin, flute, vocals, drums, or anything else! 

Also, don't be shy! Feel free to shoot me a message even just to introduce yourself. I love connecting with other soundcloud artists :)
