Hi guys… sorry it's been a while. I've got a lot of catching up to do here, as I've uploaded quite a bit of music since I've last signed in here. Here is the first of many uploads to come.

Yoshi's Island - Flower Garden

Here's a remake… of one I've already done! However, this time, I've based it off of the updated version from the 3DS remake. The original version I made was based off of the GBA version… because that was the only version that existed at the time! The remake wasn't released until 2017, and I arranged the original tune two years prior!

Anyway, there were a lot of things that I felt could really use a serious update… most notably the horn section and especially the drums. But of course, I've always wanted to redo this one in the style of the DX version… as I'm not a huge fan of the synthy route they went with it. I much preferred the sound of the "real" horns in the GBA version. So, I've based this version off of the instrumentation of the GBA version while updating it with the additional B section from the 3DS version.

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions - Come On! DX

I'd planned on making a version of both this one and the Gold/Silver version, so I did just that. I actually started with the later version and then worked my way back to this one. I'll be uploading said version very soon as well, and I made a conscious effort to make sure both sound at least a little similar in instrumentation. Hence, there's a great use of a horn section.

It was a fun challenge. Hope you enjoy!

Pokémon Red & Blue - Viridian Forest

I wasn't a huge fan of the HeartGold/SoulSilver version of this, as it spoiled the opening. The original in Gold & Silver fooled you into thinking it was going to play the same old Viridian Forest theme with the loud opening, but then manages to take you in a completely different direction, into a more funky, laid back tune. The HeartGold/SoulSilver version started laid back and chill with a piano quietly playing the opening chords, already giving away the fact that this was a completely different tune.  I wanted to make this one as ambiguous as the original version… but with an update, of course.

As mentioned prior, I arranged both Viridian Forest themes as a set, trying to maintain certain similarities, that being the horn section. I felt that having the horns play both openings would make them sound similar enough, that way one "feels" thrown off when the solo sax takes over.

Pokémon Gold & Silver - Viridian Forest

I'd uploaded this one on YouTube some time ago, but I wasn't entirely satisfied with it in retrospect. I've changed a few of the instruments and made it a bit "punchier" than the original version. The original version can be found on my YouTube channel, but for SoundCloud, I'd rather upload the new and improved version!

One major feature of this arrangement that I retained from the original version is my own personal performance of the main melody line on the trumpet. It's mixed in with the other horns, and I'm by no means a trumpet player. However, it was still a fun addition all the same.

Super Mario RPG - Fight Against Monsters

This is another one I've uploaded on YouTube first. SoundCloud, however, is getting an updated version. I received some feedback that there was too much reverb in the old one, so I tried to rectify this by changing some of the instruments (which, by default, had too much reverb without me adding any). I've also readjusted some of the balancing.

It was strange in a really intriguing way, and it was composed by the original Gen 1 Pokémon composer, Junichi Masuda, so I really wanted to tackle it as best I could.  Enjoy!

Sorry for not posting for a while!  I've been working on the rest of the Super Mario Bros. 3 soundtrack, so I could put it all in a nice long video and share it on YouTube.  I'm almost done with it, I just need to do… the main Above-Ground theme.  This will be a tall order, as it's quite an iconic theme, so I don't wanna mess it up.

Super Mario Bros. 3 - Fortress

This is one that I made about a year and a half ago, but decided to redo from the ground up just the other day, as I wasn't entirely happy with the way my old one turned out with its instrumentation and balancing (and a few wrong notes). I've also learned a lot more in the past year and a half and decided it was best to apply this new knowledge/experience to some old tunes that I'd previously remade.

This is from Super Mario Maker 2, and it is the Forest theme in the Super Mario World art style. Super Mario World had forest levels, but it did not have an original "Forest" level theme that wasn't a world map theme. Koji Kondo retroactively wrote one in the style of Super Mario World; that is, incorporating the same melody that all the other level themes use. Many of them tend to sound alike (Castle and Ghost House variants, for example, sound similar), and this one is no different; this version seems to take after the Underground variant the most. Unlike the Underground theme, this one's much brighter and stays in the major mode.
