Stay was written about a friend in need, in an attempt to lift their spirits and bring them away from suicide. I wrote it somewhat in a panic one night when I thought her life had come to an end. I wanted to prevent such a scare from ever happening again; I wanted her to see how wonderful life is, and how much better things will turn out in the future. Though we never had feelings for each other, I cared for her deeply and couldn't imagine what life would be like had she just disappeared.
