My first rendition from the marvellous book of Prelude Fantasies by Stephan Beneking. This one is so lovable to play, with a touch of sadness inside.

I know I should not even watch to this huge  masterpiece being only at my second year of piano; but I could not resist.  I tried  and I don't completely dislike what I hear. So decided to put it  here hoping Chopin will forgive me. This is probably the most known of Chopin's production, I can really undesrtand why! Although  most known pieces of an author often are not my preferred,  I cannot deny this is absolutely awesome, irresisteable in playing : charming, poetry, italian belcanto, eveything is here. So deep, joyfully and lovely at the same time. Thank you for listening

As allways is difficult to choose the right speed for Chopin works, I tried to stay in the middle bettween fastest and slower rendition, and overall to underline  the drama of which this short prelude is full.

Fryderyk Chopin - Preludio N° 4

Prelude N°6 also said "Tolling Bells" (but this name was not given from Chopin) is told to have been played at the funeral of the immense composer. It  is taken from a collection of works for beginners with Chopin Music. In spite of this I find it terribly difficult to render. With many different critical points (especially the "senza pedale", after a few bars) . Difficult to mantain the right "accento". Not to mention the final with the "come da lontano" indication. One of my favorite pieces till now, and I think forever.

Fryderyk Chopin - Preludio N° 6

This wonderful piece is a taken also form Playing the PIano Album. It's a 4/4 version differentely from the original piece (which is in 6/8) I have to thank again Madokama who gave me the score he himself wrote just listening to the music.

Clementi Sonatina op.36  N°5

This is the famous air form the 3d Suite for Orchestra by J.S. Bach. This piece has become so famous in Italy having been for years the music for a well known science TV program. There are many piano versions, Probably the most played of them  is the one   from Siloti. This is a different one anyway, in A major.

Bibo no Aozora by R.Sakamoto - Acoustic Piano

This is my first attempt to record one piece of one of my favourite authors: Ryuichi Sakamoto. I used for this the score written by my great SC friend Madokama.  I strongly suggest You visit  his page  if you like Sakamoto's masterpieces. He really is a fine pianist, who plays   using the scores he himself writes down just listening to the music. This wants to be a tribute to Lyle Mays who passed recently. One of the greatest modern composers. I hope to record also the largest version including Pat's solo in future.

This is my second recording taken from Mr Stephan Beneking's rich archive of wonderful pieces.
Having been already recorded by much better pianists than me  I  tried to differentiate a little introducing some little dissonance and a closed "finale" which probably is not in Stephan's intentions. But as he already said me once  "the interpreter  is not the slave of the compeser". So I did it;  forgive me Stephan if  you should not like it :)

Stephan Beneking - Petit reve bizarre N°20

When i started to play piano two years ago les Trois Gymnopédie have been one of  main my goals. This is only the first one and probably is to be  fixed  somewhere sooner  or later.  In spite of this I'm happy of this first result. Some of my original dreams as a pianist are  becoming true !

Erik Satie - Gymnopédie N°1

Looking around in SC you can find a lot of Gymnopedie N°1 recordings, but barely one or two N°2. Yet in my opinion N°2 and N°3 are not less marvellous than the most famous one. The tremendous popolarity of N° 1 probably obscured the other two, As for me  playing this one and N°3 is even more emotional. I cant' believe how wonderful and moving is this little masterpiece.

Erik Satie - Gymnopédie N°2

Finally the third one. This is probably the most lyiric, very singing and beautifully sad. Probably the most difficult to perform in the "right" way. I listened to many great pianists and they have very different pace. But the best to me is Aldo Ciccolini rendition, whom I humbly tried to imitate...

Erik Satie - Gymnopédie N°3

Is it possible for an adult who left playing an instrument at the age of 20 start again 30 years later or so with a completely  new instrument and reach a medium level ? In Italian Piano Zero means Ground Zero. This is where I  start  from.This is my challange. I'm an adult (48) who started playing  piano in 2011. I have being playing classical guitar when i was young, reaching a medium level. Then I left  , but recentely  I felt the urge to start again, and I choosed to do but this time with an instrument that I always have been loving secretely. I love Bach, Chopin, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov above all. Play a digital piano (Roland F110) . Hope to contact other adult beginners players on Sound Cloud so that we could create a group for people in this condition, if you agree.
