Copilco reworks "Butterfly" by techno legend Ellen Allien and offers a totally new perspective on the original track. This butterfly is being chased by a storm, torn into uncertain territory and swallowed by a massive front of dark clouds. This remix tells a different story than the original version. Moreover: it's a different perspective on the art of remixing itself. Instead of following the vibe of the original, Copilco only takes the bits and pieces of the track, mangles them to death and constructs a totally new sonic landscape.

This remix is a Swedish-German online-collaboration. The background story: "There is this audio-nerd forum called Gearslutz. One sleepless night I was digging through various electronic music threads in this forum when I suddenly stumbled across a new label from Sweden: Excellent Spaces. Nils, the guy behind the label had posted an obscure ambient/house track called Fieldbreaks by an artist named Custom Drummer. Within the first seconds of listening to the song, I instantly felt that there was something I could bring to the table. I love the ambient noises, the deep bass and striking percussion sounds of the original track. My take on this song is a deep techno remix that adds a new structure to the track and turns it into a deep sonical journey."
