Dealing with deaths of his wife and son,  85-yr-old Jack "Jackrabbit" Johnson occupies an abandoned pumpkin farm  located in Elmira, Oregon.  He stumbles into the Oregon Country Fair, nearby, and encounters a "slam poetry" event that becomes his greatest obsession.
