One of the underground’s most exciting and talented prospects, FAIDE, a Brighton-based DJ and producer, with a love of  the melodic and deep sides of house and techno. James Flavell (FAIDE) acquired his passion for music from an early age. Starting off initially as a rock and punk drummer, he adopted a DIY attitude to making music. After many years of touring internationally in bands, James decided to transfer his skills and start producing electronic music. With a limited  amount of production knowledge but a decade of percussion and rhythm under his belt, FAIDE was born.
 
Working from his home studio FAIDE began to forge a unique sound for himself, focusing on diverse layered drums and engaging melodies, with the addition of organic live recorded instruments.
FAIDE quickly caught the attention of local record label Dino Audio, who signed his first two EP’s.
From the moment the promos went out, his music began to get receive recognition across the international music scene.
FAIDE’s piano and vocal lead track ‘Another Story’ was picked up by legendary DJ Nick Warren, who showcased it at his infamous ‘Sound Garden’ party in Barcelona.
 
The B-side ‘Wal’ was championed by Eelke Kleijn, who played it globally, including at his Mixmag NYC party and as the closing track of his Burning Man set.
Other support for the EP came from big hitters such as Kolsch, Joris Voorn, Danny Tenaglia and Franky & Sandrino.
 
Fast forward to 2020. FAIDE teamed up with two of Argentina’s finest producers Brigado Crew and Ubbah for a collaboration, which was picked up by Oliver Koletzki, signed to his label ‘Stil Vor Talent’ and released on the 10th of January.
 
The first track ‘Gana’ boasted a driving low-end, technicolour rhythm and atmospheric tribal vocals. Perfect for the likes of Magdalena (Dynamic) to play in her ‘Shadows Tulum’ set and also at Warung Beach Club in Brazil.
 
The second track in the collaboration ‘Swerve’ gently builds and releases, effortlessly weaving classic techno sounds with live symphonic strings. 'Stil Vor Talent' owner Koletzki has made it a firm favourite in his mixes, including his Mayan Warrior sunrise set.
 
FAIDE has also built up an impressive DJ resume over the last few years, supporting  some of the underground scene’s most respected artists, including EINMUSIK, Timo Mass, &ME, Christian Burkhart, Alan Fitzpatrick, Skatman and James Zabiela; as well as recently curating his own party ‘FAIDED Presents’.

FAIDE’s next release is expected on Madrid based ‘Alpha Black Records’ this autumn…..

Established by Yamil, Clemente, Thimble, and their long-time manager, the label embodies a unique philosophy: offering a personal vision that transcends mere music, creating an audio-visual concept that delivers a singular experience, distinct from mainstream trends and hype.

The inception of POL dates back to late 2019 when Yamil and his manager sought to create a platform for Yamil's artistic expression, independent of the prevailing labels of the time. This vision led to the formation of a collective, quickly bringing Clemente and Thimble on board. Sharing similar musical passions, they collectively shaped the label into its current form.
