Kri records first installment oscillates between EBM and electro, ready for sweaty dancefloors and those extra long afterhours needing some “warm leatherette”.

A well crafted five tracker journey is a debut collab by two veterans, Christian Kroupa discovering his darker shades coming off of an LP on Natural Sciences under his Alleged Witches moniker, while Le Chocolat Noir is no stranger either with seals of approval on Return to Disorder and L.I.E.S among others.

Get ready for plenty of melodies, massive chords and menacing vocals spiced with an epic acid remix by the Mannequin boss Alessandro Adriani.

A new imprint hailing from Ljubljana, Slovenia, KRI aims to capture the lost futures of EBM, electro and nu-wave from the 80s while pairing them with future-focused productions of the now. Named after post-punk group Otroci Socializma, the label ran by local DJs and promoters Schrauff & Lavka will showcase records enjoyed both in the club and at home, while re-issuing obscure and timeless records alongside fresh material from producers across the globe.

Opening production ‘The Quest’ welcomes a futuristic electro ride through warped vocals and resonant synths to set the tone, before Alessandro Adriani’s take on the track dives into darker, murkier territories as he serves up a powerful acid-flecked remix. On the flip, ‘The Hate That You Preach’ continues the dystopian feel with a chuggy production guided by vocal echoes, while ‘Electro City Express’ takes cues from its title with a surging, sweeping journey through cinematic synths. B3 ‘Contraint Attached’ rounds out the vinyl offering with a dark yet immersive and absorbing tumble through post-punk and synth-wave influences for an intoxicating trip. The release also comes with a digital bonus in the form of the PAN YU version of ‘Electro City Express’ - offering up a ray of light and an abundance of energy via intergalactic leads, bubbling electronics and nimble percussion throughout.

“Italian-born, Prague-based DJ Ester started her music journey in 2018 when she introduced herself with her first DJ set in her hometown. Since then she brings us a long, dark, escalating journey through her performance mainly inspired by the sounds of electronic body music, industrial and post-punk. You can also hear the influence of the Belgian new beat in her sets which is a big part of her selection.
In 2020 she joined the Prague audiovisual collective Organizovaný Plevel which became a second family to her. Together they started organizing parties called „SLET“ which focuses on bringing the collective’s favorite artists, showcasing them to the local public, and sharing their love for music with others.

Ester is also half of a duo Cursed Soil which she created with C4AT. After playing so many back-to-backs together and sharing a love for melancholic and harsh tunes, they decided that it would be the best option and since then they also started working on their music. But there are no borders in her music selection, you can also hear her play dark-ambient and oriental stuff that fill the gaps of silence in her life daily. ”

The third compilation (of four instalments) in the Various Artists catalogue of Pi Electronics is hitting physical and digital stores around the globe on the 10th of February 2023.

The concept of releasing artists, who performed at π parties (2014-2019) along with musicians who stood close to the label before and during its activity, gathers 18 tracks to the Limitation Compilation.

Music by New York City industrial legend Adam X, Swedish master mind producer Peder Mannerfelt and Irish Techno figure, Eomac (also one half of Lakker) finally takes its place on the label catalogue, along with tracks by the electro side of Italian born producer, Alessandro Adriani and the sound-aesthetic of UK hailing musicians, Slave to Society (formerly AnD ) and Sam KDC.
Berlin artists Alekzandra and Interviews appear with a synth leaning piece, and a hypnotic, broken techno contribution respectively.
You can also meet the sound of Tel Aviv’s finest electro duo TV.OUT on this release, which also includes a rare collaboration track by Ireen Amnes and Gramrcy.
Finally, ‘Limitation’ presents music by Greece affiliated acts of different backgrounds: from the dreamy guitars of Monochromatic Visions and the ambient/drone of Devika, to the broken beats of Zevla and Ønly, as well as the rolling techno of Thanos Hana. Not to mention the textures of noise band Phallucipher, the industrial slo mo techno of Thessaloniki’s, Archaic Intellect, and the noise-techno of label founder, 3.14.

A crossroad of different genres and production styles is offered in the formats of Double Vinyl Sampler, Double CD and digital for this compilation, titled “Limitation”.
