Hello. So funny, as years ago I was jamming with a bunch of friends and I asked Allen what he was playing on guitar when we took a break. He said… it’s a simple farming song. I laughed as the melody was great. Maybe most of my songs have been simple farming songs. This one definitely is. It came about after I was exploring some overdriven slide guitar, trying to work up a heavy Blues tune. None of that was panning out, so I just grabbed the Dobro and kept it simple. Everything about the song just fell into place, to include some vocal shenanigans. In other news, I’ve got a long chore list to get after before the snow flies. One quick chore was climbing up on the garage and shoveling Bandit’s droppings off the roof by the apple tree he loves. Bandit is a raccoon. It also gave me a chance to pick some apples on the branches that overhang the roof. I left more apples than I picked… for Bandit and the deer that come in here… Bandit likes apples and unknowingly helps to fertilize the apple tree. Everyone pulls their weight down here on the farm. Hahahaha. Birds are migrating through in waves now. I sit out on the porch in an old chair and watch them. Sometimes I get to see a bird or two I haven’t seen before and look in the field guide to try and ID it. So there’s a bit of ornithology going on ‘round here too. Hello dear Soundcloud listeners,

I'm still determined to continue producing music, the music of Pier Will, which can only be heard on Soundcloud and which can also be recorded... for now.

The world of music is rapidly moving towards a huge upheaval where the true musician will very quickly become "rare," or even more and more of a shadow, a peculiarity, a memory. This time is not so far away, as AI takes a predominant place in everything that touches us and surrounds us and in Music, this can already be heard very clearly!

Apparently, everyone is taking this lightly, and the few diehards are being sneered at as anti-progress terrorists, for now. I already have two work computers disconnected from the internet, which house my software and everything I need to work. No more updates for them to work properly... updates are only necessary if you need to connect! Another computer is dedicated solely to internet connection and will be used exclusively for streaming the tracks.

This decision has serious consequences for my production, as there are no more options to add anything to it. It's a gamble, but for me, it's an obligation to remain completely independent and free from AI.

Le monde de la musique s'achemine rapidement vers un bouleversement majeur où le véritable musicien deviendra très vite « rare », voire de plus en plus une ombre, une singularité, un souvenir. Ce temps n'est pas si lointain, car l'IA prend une place prépondérante dans tout ce qui nous touche et nous entoure, et en musique, cela se voit déjà très clairement !

Apparemment, tout le monde prend cela à la légère, et les quelques irréductibles sont méprisés comme des terroristes anti-progrès, pour l'instant. J'ai déjà deux ordinateurs de travail déconnectés d'Internet, qui hébergent mes logiciels et tout ce dont j'ai besoin pour travailler. Plus besoin de mises à jour pour qu'ils fonctionnent correctement… les mises à jour ne sont nécessaires que si vous avez besoin de vous connecter ! Un autre ordinateur est dédié uniquement à la connexion Internet et sera utilisé exclusivement pour le streaming des morceaux.

Cette décision a de graves conséquences sur ma production, car il n'y a plus aucune possibilité d'y ajouter quoi que ce soit. C'est un pari risqué, mais pour moi, c'est une obligation de rester totalement indépendant et libre de toute IA.
