Hey hey! We're sorry this remix was late getting up here on SoundCloud but it was completely out of our hands! Anyways, Dada Life are one of the first electronic music duos who really blew us away when we started Young Bombs. Their production and talent is just next level and they always seem to stay one step ahead of everyone else. So needless to say, getting this opportunity to remix them is still pretty surreal and we're thankful they thought of us!

Although it's only coming out now, this remix was made the day after we finished our 'Weekend Millionaires' remix...so, sometime in April. We were both in a really happy, positive headspace when we made it and we think those emotions really come through in the music. We wanted to make a summertime, progressive house remix but add some twists to it. We gave the verses an island/tropical vibe and the drop a unique groove with the bassline. Hope you feel it, or it will be your last night on Earth.

So I've been a big fan of @timeflies for a while now, Timeflies Tuesday was probably the most brilliant way to release music I've ever seen and Rob and Cal are both super talented dudes who make great music.  I was really excited to get a chance to work with this track, and the vocal to me sounded like it would be perfect over a tropical house/pop style beat so that's where I took it.  Pop music gets a bit of a bad rap sometimes but just try listening to this one with the windows down and the volume up and tell me you're not smiling...

Fun Facts:
1 - There are indeed worse things than love.  Subway rats fighting over pizza, Colin Kaepernick, and people who dressed up as Bill Cosby for Halloween (you know who you are) come to mind.
2 - I don't know who the girl in this cover photo is, but she's definitely a Timeflies fan.  Also, if she's your girlfriend, you win at life.
3 - I just got tickets to a real life taping of the Maury show, so if you see someone in a Dave Edwards shirt as someone is finding out they are/are not the father (hopefully not me), that's your boy.
4 - People putting unfiltered ice cubes in otherwise delicious Brita water is one of the most under-talked about problems of our time.

Ok so you’re prob sitting there, iced coffee in hand, hungover af from the weekend, with half the tracks in your Soundcloud feed being Bring Back the Summer remixes, being like what on earth made someone want to do yet another one…I get that. And yea, this may have knocked off Hello or Somebody I Used to Know for most remixed song of all time - the amount of trap arms thrown to this track already is seriously mind-boggling.  BUT…I had to do it.  If you’ve been following me for a while you know I don’t shy away from songs that have been remixed to death (Kanye, Lights, The Feeling…) and that I always bring something new to the table.  

Pretty sure this is the first track I’ve heard Oly sing on but her voice is unreal and was a dream to work with.  Rain Man crushed the original mix of this and to me, the only way to do a proper remix was to go in a completely different direction…new chords, new melody, totally flip the style even though it’s the same tempo as the original.  I went with some really vibey and unusual chords (I’m gonna do a tutorial on how I made this track for the producers out there) that gave it a good summer feel and hope this is gonna live at the top of your playlists all summer long.  

Fun Facts:
1 - There is no greater luxury in life than having way too many iPhone chargers.  I've got one in every outlet in my apartment now and short of having a yacht or being Calvin Harris it is literally the most baller shi* ever.
2 - I went to see Robyn at Gov Ball instead of The Strokes.  BRING ON THE HATE
3 - If you eat pineapple while mastering a tropical house track the music gods will bestow on you 1 extra dB of loudness.
4 - Quick music theory lesson of the day (QMTLOTD) - this remix uses what I like to call the Teenage Dream chord trick...start on the IV, never resolve to the I, until the very last note of the song...gives a track a driving, endless feel that sounds unusual since people are so used to hearing progressions resolve to the tonic.  More about this in the tutorial coming soon!

The last few months have been awesome. Being in Nashville and LA, writing with some super talented people and pitching songs all around.
