Twin brothers Nick and Mike Rufolo aka The Brothers Nylon are ultra-prolific musicians from Long Island, now based in Melbourne Beach, FL. Since 2010, they have released 30+ albums and 600+ YouTube videos of their studio sessions.

They show a rare musical versatility that ranges from jazz, funk, soul, hip hop, and sometimes psych-rock and dub experiments, mostly instrumental and always recorded through their iconic Tascam 388 tape machine.

In 2016 we released a digital compilation of some of their grooviest tracks titled Golden Bagels, to facilitate diving into their gigantic discography. We now present Lofi Sauce, a sequel gathering 16 colorful instrumentals gems of jazz, funk and soul.

This album might not sound lofi at first glance but it is inspired by the lofi beats movement and lofi hip-hop YouTube channels, a sound they tried to recreate with a more analog instrumentation and production. Lofi Sauce contains some of their most popular tunes like London Falling, Tea Cosy and Ay Uh!, as well as some forgotten treats that were still unreleased to this day: Bagel Boy, Wave Remote, Beach Comber…

Each sample has multiple sections and phrases to choose from giving producers complete creative control. Recorded and mixed thru tons of rare and vintage analog gear such as Electrodyne and Quad Eight preamps, mics including the RCA 44Bx, KM 86, Sony C37a, Live Room reverbs and EMT 140 Plate verbs, vintage guitar amps and printed to an Ampex 440b Tape Machine giving each sample the warmth, tone and texture of late 60s to early 70s vinyl record. A pianist, organist, conductor, composer, he was also the prolific author of more than 300 film soundtracks. He played for the first time on radio in 1938 with his “013” Big Band, to return on air only after the liberation of Italy in 1944. “013” was the first Italian jazz band to be broadcast in Italy after the fall of fascism.

Many directors sought Piero Piccioni to score the soundtracks for their films: Francesco Rosi, Mario Monicelli, Alberto Lattuada, Luigi Comencini, Luchino Visconti, Antonio Pietrangeli, Bernardo Bertolucci, Roberto Rossellini, Vittorio De Sica, Lina Wertmuller, Tinto Brass, Dino Risi, and others.
