Moroccan Spices was composed for the Allentown Symphony Chamber Music Program - "Food & Flavors" .  The event was a great success and well attended. Below are few pictures and the Video Score of Moroccan Spices for Violin & Cello premiered April 5, 2022 at the Lehigh Valley Charter School for the Arts, Bethlehem, PA.

The enchanting aroma of the Moroccan Dish took me instantly to the Spice Market in Marrakesh ...  and composed the piece"  Morocco was one of the stopping points on the ancient Spice Road between the Far East and Europe. Many of the spices that traveled through it became popular parts of the local food culture and have been used in Moroccan cooking for centuries. Along with those spices, there have been inuences from Andalusia and the Mediterranean region as well as some Berbere ingredients." Moroccan food is fragrant, exquisitely spiced and rich in flavors and texture. In this String Duo the Arabic Scale and syncopated rhythms mingle magically with the favors of the dish.

mind during its creation, takes the listener on a journey through the
serene beauty of the night sky and the deep anxiety depicted in the
swirling clouds. The piece opens with a twinkling, starry theme
played on the piano, accompanied by the cello's calm and steady
melody. As the music progresses, the cello increases in dynamics,
mirroring the increasing turmoil in Van Gogh's mind. Ultimately,
the music returns to the serene opening theme, ending on a nostalgic
note that re􀀦ects the artist's lasting legacy."

Bassoon & Clarinet adaptation of Cello & Viola composition.  "Solitude" was born out of the unique circumstance of the COVID pandemic when the world retreated into isolation and solitude. This piece, introspective in nature is a reflection on the experience of being alone.

With the third movement, we find ourselves amid the towering groves that held spiritual and practical significance for the Phoenicians. The music envelops us in the reverence they held for the majestic cedar trees, which graced cities like Byblos. The orchestra's intricate harmonies and evocative tones capture the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature, reflecting the craftsmanship and seafaring legacy that bloomed in the shadow of these ancient giants.

III. Cedar Forest - BBCSO

At last, we reach the magnificent conclusion: "Carthage." The music surges and reverberates, echoing the triumphant ascent of this colossal city—a reflection of the ambitions and triumphs of Phoenician colonies far from their shores. However, as the composition unfolds, the melodies transform, embodying the trials and eventual decline encountered by cities akin to Carthage. The crescendos gradually yield to mournful passages, serving as a poignant reminder that even the most splendid civilizations are inevitably constrained by the passage of time. And in the final chord, an indelible assurance emerges—a testament to the enduring remembrance of Phoenicia and its resplendent history.

IV. Carthage - BBCSO

As we transition to the second movement, "Canaanite Harvest Festival," the music transforms into a joyous celebration of unity and abundance. The orchestra resonates with the spirit of Phoenician communities in cities like Beirut and Sidon, as they gathered to honor the land's gifts. The melodies intertwine like dancers in a jubilant procession, embodying the collective gratitude and shared bonds that defined Phoenician society.

II. Canaanite Harvest Festival - BBCSO

The first movement "Phoenicia" sets the stage by evoking the spirit of the ancient Phoenician civilization, which thrived in modern-day Lebanon. Te music begins with a gentle and reflective theme, transporting the listener to the time of antiquity when Phoenician cities like Byblos, Beirut, Tyre, and Sidon were at their zenith. Tese cities were hubs of innovation, and the Phoenicians were known for their contributions to the world, including the development of the first alphabet, advancements in commerce, and their mastery of sailing and the establishment of colonies across the Mediterranean.

My name is Pierre Bohemond and I am an Orchestral and Chamber Music composer.  My style ranges from modern classical to modern romantic with musical influences spanning from Rimsky-Korsakov and Igor Stravinsky to progressive rock. 

In 2014, I successfully composed and publish a ballet “Dreams Interrupted” choreographed by Trinette Singleton, a former Joffrey Ballet alumna and artistic director at the Repertory Dance Theater in Allentown, PA. 2020 Successful Call for Scores
At the end of 2020, I submitted a chamber music composition "The Shores Of Phoenicia" for clarinet & piano (Adapted from Phoenicia Symphonic Suite op.35) to the Allentown Symphony Orchestra’s Call for Scores: New Music Series Chamber Music. “Cubist Dances – Ballet Suite in 5 Dances.”  Themes inspired by Picasso’s painting “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” and other cubism era artists, written for Chamber Orchestra (Woodwinds, Strings, and Percussion) for 23 – 28 musicians – orchestral score composed with Steinberg Dorico.
