The Back Door - demo Dec. 2015

This is the third track from our debut album 'Ginger Romance', called also Ginger Romance, telling the story of a boy that just arrived in a new place because his parents were moving a lot to different cities. And one day while he was just having a splendid brew of ginger tea (his favourite) on his balcony  he caught in the corner of his eye this... gorgeous ginger-haired girl. Oh, you can bet that this meeting brought out the best in him. And... the rest? The rest is history: they are still together, often laughing like 5-year olds, and sharing a cuppa ginger tea on their balcony.

Ghost town is the 11th track in our debut album. It is a collaborative song written by Petar and Thomas, and depicts the fight many of us have with 'demons' from our past, making us restless with a cacophony of thoughts, regrets, and what-ifs... Yet it also tackles the theme of becoming aware of that, and dealing with it consciously.

Orange Hat is our take on the modern explorations of rock, prog, indie and alternative. Think MUSE meets the White Lies and you will get the idea for the sound in this tune. Lyrically, we explore the topic of (im)perfection in life, and especially the social media's pushes and pulls to which we are all exposed. Orange Hat is our metaphor for finding your own guiding light that 'tells' you what is right and wrong for you. It is the 'home-made sun' that lights up your dark thoughts and lifts you up to be the best version of yourself today and tomorrow.

MAASSA is a rock band from Maastricht, NL. We write our own music in which you will find influences of indie, alternative and Brit rock, post-punk, and prog. Surely we admire the work of others and you would hear a few covers in our gigs with the added spin of our raw energy and our fiery delivery on stage (MUSE, Foo Fithers, QOTSA; Biffy Clyro; Band of Skulls; XTC; White LIes; etc). The songs are uplifting, groovy and energetic. They make you want to jump, dance, smile and shout. The lyrics relate to social issues reminding you to look around and within yourself.
