Original by Pietro Fine. 2007/2025: a rewrite of a tune written on Lee Michelle’s grand piano in Melbourne. Davey Rankin took Pietro to a party and while playing Lee came up and offered to let Pietro play his piano anytime he wanted.

Sweet Emma

Shirley Scott wrote this great swing blues in 1992. Scott was a great organist but recorded this on one of her only piano trio albums. We love it in FOC because it just sits so beautifully within a specifically cool setting of a 12 bar blues.

Blues Everywhere

"Book of Notes" is a 2013 composition based on a pattern I scribbled into a note book in the middle of the night. It's a beautiful little leather bound manuscript book my daughter gave me a few years ago so I'd have something I could carry around to access easily whenever the inspiration took me. Thanks Hildy! The recording is the Fine Jazz Organizers: Azo Bell guitar, Jason Banister drums and Pietro Fine organ live at the Tatts Hotel in Lismore in July 2016.
