Away from the techno they’ve produced for labels including Cocoon and their own Elevate imprint, Pig&Dan have compiled an album honouring the musicians and singers they’ve met and who’ve inspired them throughout their career. The album entitled ‘Destination Unknown’ holds no boundaries, fusing together genres and styles far beyond electronic music’s own (increasingly broad) spectrum. 

Released on John Digweed’s Bedrock label, ‘Destination Unknown breaks out from Pig&Dan’s roots and pushes their personal envelope of influences to a wider audience who may not have been exposed to downtempo, funk and the (almost) anything goes philosophy of Balearic music.

One of the main instigators of this trip Malcolm ‘Molly’ Duncan, father of Dan and founder of the legendary soul group, The Average White band, was a massive part of encouraging the evolution of this project.

Other members of the musical family, California-born singer/lyricist, Glen Anthony Henry AKA ‘Ageel’, funk guitar guru, Tim Cansfield, cultural hip hop master, Jamie Reixach AKA “Giacomo” Legendary Reggae vocalist Paul De Swardt, Tech house legend & Soul Camp founder, Werner Niedermeier, Spanish jazz genius, Jaime Rosello aka Ruspei, Grammy winning soundtrack guitarist Joan Bibiloni 

After a chance meeting on a flight in 1999, Pig&Dan joined forces to combine their interest in music production. Thus began a truly prolific production schedule with 18 releases in the first year, establishing their reputation as producers of pulsating electronic music. In 2003, they launched their first label Submission and a sound that would attract Cocoon Recordings, After releasing ‘Oh Yeah’ they followed up 8 more releases on the seminal Frankfurt imprint, including their own artist album, ‘Imagine’. 
After this they continued to build their ever increasing profile by collaborating with some of the industries greats such as UNDERWORLD and Monika Kruse plus Remixing for Giants such as Deadmau5 and Paul Kalkbrenner to name a few.

Almost 11 years down the line and Pig&Dan have been blessing the decks of many of the biggest events and festivals worldwide. Recently the duo launched a new digital and vinyl imprint titled ELEVATE. The label’s title sums up their sound and devotion to dynamic music in just one word.

Bedrock Records have recently just celebrated their fifteenth anniversary and the label is going from strength to strength, releasing quality single releases and artist albums, plus the hugely successful ‘Live In’ compilation series from John Digweed. With releases crossing over many genres, Bedrock's consistency and John Digweed's prolific touring continues to attract a newer audience to the label.

Following EPM's recent vinyl collaboration with Paris' Yoyaku on Reel By Real's "Surkit – Remixed and Remastered", EPM present a new project, again with a French touch. Madben returns (this time solo) for the "Groove On EP".

Born in the North of France, Madben has retained a taste for DIY culture and a nickname that comes direct from the warehouse. The Lille resident has been "living" techno since his emergence in the scene. From the 1990s, he followed this new scene closely via the flyers he found at local record stores. With his friends, he spent nights in Belgium; Fuse in Brussels, Kozzmozz parties in Ghent or in disused factories in Kortrijk - free and perfect territory to listen to the best sounds of the time.

In 2010, Benjamin put his savings into a rudimentary studio, a pair of speakers, a monitor, a MIDI keyboard and a computer equipped with Reason and Ableton and eventually starts broadcasting it in real time on Soundcloud. Pushed by his friends, he sends demos to Laurent Garnier who immediately responds: Garnier plays a track on his radio show, It is What It Is, on Le Mouv. Madben's name begins to grow and he teams up with Brest festival Astropolis, a French electronic institution, before launching his own label.

Now numerous releases and three albums into his career (two solo productions and one collaboration as Trunkline with Yann Lean), Madben is a steady pair of hands both behind the decks in clubs such as Berghain (Berlin), Printworks (London), Awakenings and De Marktkantne (Amsterdam) or as a producer on labels such as Astropolis, Maceo Plex's Ellum, Skryptom Records, Fedele's Obscura and Berlin based Mobilee.

Following last summer's "We Hit Drums EP" alongside Kosme, Madben continues his alliance with EPM, highlighting that techno not only needs clubland raw power but also that all important groove.

Kick-starting with a rattling break, "Groove On" builds into a club busting roof-raiser, complete with strings, stabs and a party call to arms! "Celebration" wraps itself around a melody that is sonically stamped with Motor City DNA throughout, whilst "My Groovy Animoog" toughens the beat with dark industrial undertones that echo '90s European techno. Closing out we have the hypnotic crunch of "Don’t Mess With My G", where sinister beats meet the darker side of the Windy City.

Living in the shadows between techno and house, "Groove On" draws from Detroit, Chicago and rave culture with equal measure. The very essence of Madben.

SCI+TEC presents a new release from Brazilian artist White Sheep, the alias of veteran producer and event curator Gustavo Peluzo. Known for his modern house productions, White Sheep delivers a track that fuses the punch of 2000s electro with the textures of contemporary indie electro.

Adding to the package is a remix from Romanian DJ, producer, and “Take Notes” label owner Mahony, whose past release on SCI+TEC earned strong support. With a career spanning residencies at Bucharest’s Kristal Club, regular appearances at Sunwaves, and releases on Vatos Locos, Tamango, and Mindshake, Mahony brings his minimal-groove signature to reinterpret White Sheep’s vision for the dancefloor.

The result is a meeting of two distinctive voices in modern electronic music.
