Rising Brazilian-born talent Fred Lenix steps up for his Truesoul debut. 

The producer bubbled to attention with impressive cuts on Ellum Audio, led by ‘The Rails’, before following up with releases on Pig&Dan’s Elevate and Fur Coat’s Oddity imprint. A qualified sound engineer, the 25-year-old possesses a talent and distinct musical signature that belies his years. While mining old school techno and electro for inspiration, he’s resolutely a futurist, melding these textures with melodic elements and sci-fi sensibilities to create an immersive sonic world.

‘Somewhere EP’ is an exciting step in the Turkey-based artist’s evolution. The work begins with ‘Void’ characterised by menacing metallic soundscapes and head-caving reverb that begs to be played on a hefty soundsystem. The title track is an ice-cool roller, heavy on dramatic tension and narrative arc, reinforcing Lenix’s production skills. ‘M81’ utilises pitch modulated pads as a bed for the snaking bassline that connects with thrilling club-ready effect. The EP concludes with ‘Clara’, a beautiful electro-tinged cut featuring Daniela Serey on vocals. An impressive and very interesting debut from an artist set for a rapid ascendent.

Third Son may have only debuted in late 2014, but what a year it’s been since. Tapping into his instinctive musical heritage, the Londoner has already landed releases for the likes of Noir Music, Sincopat and Einmusika. 2016 promises to be even bigger still. The 25-year-old already has a host of releases planned (including work for Oliver Koletzki‘s Stil Vor Talent imprint, a full album on the way and a special live set of original material is waiting to be revealed.  Form/Void EP materializes itself in the form of four original tracks with Teenage Mutants on remix duties for Stil Vor Talent. We premiere Alaska which frames a colder and darker atmosphere, the artist masterfully uses synth chords to assemble a recurring ascending groove that ultimately leads to a soft release, Teenage Mutants puts on his remix hat on this track too which is also great!

Release Info: 
Its been more than 2 years since I did an original release on my own label. Its been 9 months since I had an original NOIR release. I wanted some time without releases. Some time to breathe, to think and most importantly time to be creative and to experiment. I have picked 2 productions I felt sounded different to everything else out here.

Eruption was already made in the fall 2017 and I have been road-testing it since ADE17 and changed it quite a lot over the 6 months period from when I thought it was finished to what it actually sounds like now. I wanted the track to be brutal like a volcano erupting but at the same time have beautiful and peaceful elements. Hence the breakdown lava sliding into the middle of the track before it all erupts again. I have spent many hours trying to make it sound raw and unpolished.

Disruption is build around a super simple sequence loop I played by hand while jamming with new pluck sounds. As the sequence got layered and washed in effects it became a quite haunting loop and that led me to add a boys choir to give that feel bigger impact.This track sounds simpler than Eruption but its actually stacked with layers. Disruption is meant to make you close your eyes, follow the rhythm, the simple sequenced loop and get hypnotized.
