Once back in time he called Mairon, one of the most beautiful maia, who was a servant of Aule. but there was a dark desire, he quit and listen to the tune of morgoth. 
The grey-elves called him Gorthaur, the enemy in the shadows, servant of morgoth. He also has many names.. But in middle earth the enemies of him called him Sauron, the lord of the rings.
