The prison is a playground where beginner players learn about allocating their stats, using their time effectively, and making the most of the floor they generate. Some simple roadblocks appear but they are teaching elements, nothing the player can't handle if they're trying.

To fit this design, the prison theme is simple, predictable and methodical. The stakes are low but they are present, this is reflected in the overall tone; it sounds safe and fun with light hints of dread and glum.

The mines and castle areas ramp up the difficulty and introduce enemies that can take a considerable chunk off your health, as well as enemies that can take more hits. The boss fights found here are very possible to lose against and they make sure the player is ready to proceed without getting stomped in the next area.

The theme, in response is more unsettling and uncertain. It takes a lot of inspiration from common "cave" themes in games, and uses some environmental noises to capitalize on the "spookiness"

The surface is where all the training wheels are removed. Either you are ready to take on the rest of the game or you will perish here quickly. The speed tier is much higher here than previously, meaning enemies will likely be out-pacing you and attacking multiple times. Take every step carefully and try not to make any short-sighted decisions!

This theme is my favorite of the bunch so far. It gives classic RPG vibes and uses some subtle elements to push it towards "grand outdoors adventure"
