A rising force within the underground dance scene, Michael Ritter continues to hone a distinctive sound with elegant craftsmanship and technical expertise. Returning to Sam Packer's Pillbox, Michael now delivers his "Boundaries / El Camino" EP.

Part of the vibrant electronic scene in his native Germany, Michael Ritter is a regular performer across the Berlin capital through his Grey Bar Hotel label and events. A passionate advocate of an eclectic mix of Progressive, Afro and Melodic House with a dash of Organica thrown in for good measure, Michael's sets captivate far beyond the boundaries of his home country, evidenced by an upcoming Mexico tour in early 2023 with performances in Juarez and Mexico City. A contemporaneous production career has seen releases on an array of blue-chip imprints since a 2019 debut for Price Incorrect, with over a century of production credits sitting proudly against the Michael Ritter name. Original and remix production material can be found on Lowbit, Particles and YOMO Records as well as a raft of releases on his Grey Bar Hotel label.

Debuting on Pillbox with a standout reworking of Chris Zippel & Ghenwa Nemnom's "To Follow" in October 2022, Michael now returns to the label with his first full original EP, already gaining traction from industry heavyweights Marco Tegui, Be Svendsen and Iorie, among others. Opener, "Boundaries" lilts easily across its 6-minute timeframe as an Afro House-infused percussion provides the perfect foundation for a luscious arpeggio to enter the fray alongside a rolling groove. A hefty bass sequence adds weight while a sultry vocal sample stretches invitingly throughout. Building through an atmospheric breakdown of sonic colour and organic instrumentation, the track drops back into the delightfully imagined combination of rhythm and melody.

Partner track, "El Camino" continues the laid-back rhythmic cadence of the opener which a beautiful display of melodic emotion and elegance. Anchored by a powerful kick and sumptuous bassline dynamism, a swathe of piano motifs, horn phrases, and sitar-inspired instrumentation, combine in a majestic fashion to create a mesmerizing aural landscape that evolves unencumbered across a wondrous 5-minutes. Dripping in atmosphere and emotion, Michael's skill is to evoke an image of a sweltering Spanish summer afternoon through his masterful production.
