PillowTalk's warm jazzed out reimagining of "If This World Were Mine" works on so many levels. Taking just a vocal outro harmony sung by Marvin Gaye and Tami Terrell, they have created a future soul classic.  Complete with live instrumentation and key arrangement, these fellas just have a way of putting a new stamp on these timeless compositions. Despite having released only a couple of EPs, it feels like PillowTalk have been around for ages. As soon as they arrived on first Visionquest then Life & Death during last year, the San Fran trio’s Motown tinged, rhythm and blues influenced house sounds fit in perfectly with the so-called underground melodic pop revolution along side acts like Tale of Us and Footprintz.  With a new EP out on Wolf & Lamb now, a release, Strange Love, on Bang the Box out mid-Feb (complete with John Tejada remix), as well as an increased number of live shows planned for the first part of the year, PillowTalk look set to be at the forefront of all that is hot in 2012.

Autobrennt - PillowTalk Podcast


San Franciscan trio PillowTalk dish out this weeks mix; a sublime hour long work out which perfectly showcases their wonderfully unique sound. Sammy D, Ryan Williams and Michael Tello's fusion of classic underground house along with modern RnB and boogie flexes all began by jamming around a baby grand piano in a kitchen about a year ago, and now can be heard on labels such as Wolf + Lamb, Life and Death, and Visionquest. Their alluring and charming pop-dance songs are inspired by anyone from the Beach Boys to Larry Heard, and we just can't get enough of them. This podcast is class from start to finish; an absolutely essential listen.

In 2010 - while having already gained notoriety as a DJ and Producer - his album debut ‘Standing On Top Of Utopia‘, confirmed his presence on an even grander level. Radio friendly, intelligent and feel-good electronic pop never sounded so fresh.

Now with ‘Fool‘ Kasper continues his wild and ecstatic journey into the future of music. The second single to feature from the new long-player is the casually cool ‘Deep Is The Breath‘. Wolf + Lamb‘s PillowTalk take centre stage next with their remix, featuring Tone of Arc. Lively, organic and expertly produced, their mix has a live-jam feel complete with classic dub-style vocal cuts and trippy synth lines swirling around the bassy, slightly broken-beated groove. A melodic chorus greets us mid-way before more throw-down inducing deepness.
