FREAKY STYLE TRIBUTE

Crée au milieu des années 90 à Chicago, la Ghetto House – fusion détonante de grooves bruts, de vocaux rap scandés et de kicks surpuissants – s’est imposée comme la bande-son des clubs et des raves aux États-Unis, puis en Europe.

Portée par le label Dancemania et des pionniers comme DJ Deeon, Paul Johnson ou DJ Slugo, elle a donné naissance à toute une galaxie de sous-genres : la Booty House, le Juke, le Footwork… Parmi ces figures, DJ Funk s’est affirmé comme une légende absolue, ambassadeur sauvage et magnétique d’un son sans compromis, qui a retourné les dancefloors pendant trois décennies.

C’est en hommage à cette culture club unique, mais aussi en mémoire de DJ Funk, récemment disparu, que la soirée « Freaky Style » débarque le Jeudi 22 Mai au Sacré.

Une nuit dédiée au groove, à l’attitude, à la sueur – avec le meilleur de la scène locale pour faire honneur à Chicago et à son héritage sonore. 
Shake it. Perculate. Bounce.

One of the most cherished memories from my childhood — and for many others — Simple and Clean by Japanese pop star Hikaru Utada is an absolute classic. Originally remixed by PLANiTb for the Kingdom Hearts series, it became a timeless anthem that defined a generation.

This is my take on that moment — a remix born from pure nostalgia, reimagined to bring it back to the dance floor. I hope it brings back the same memories for you as it did for me. <3
