Dragoon is the title track of Pineross' upcoming album Dragoon. Featuring Jake Ransom on drums and Charles Du Preez on bass clarinet.  Written in the Spring of 2021 in a cabin at the foot of the Dragoon mountains.

Under a Tree was written as the finale song for a puppet show exploring artificial intelligence and puppetry that premiered at the Tucson Puppet Cabaret in December of 2023. The show Judy A.I. followed a down-and-out puppeteer who reluctantly consults artificial intelligence to help him write a popular show. Loosely based off of an old Punch and Judy routine, the show and song are meditation on technology and creative control. One fascinating element that I played with was to represent A.I. using shadow and hand puppets. I liked the juxtaposition of one the newest creative technologies represented by one of the oldest art forms.

Pineross is the musical alias of composer, performer, producer and sound artist Kevin Larkin. He spent the last decade creating theatrical productions with Denver based art-folk band Chimney Choir, performing while suspended from trees during the Breckenridge International Festival of Art, and designing an interactive sound installation as Artist in Residence at Great Sand Dunes National Park. He has collaborated with filmmakers, puppeteers, dancers, environmentalists, songwriters, and poets. Pineross’ latest release, Dragoon, was inspired by the harsh and beautiful landscape of the Sonoran desert. The music takes listeners on a journey into the borderlands, where history and mythology blend into a polarized reality.
