I chose 2 recent unfinished tracks, that I had considered layering prior to the disquiet prompt… so I did just that, I set up 2 channels one for each track, one slowed by 10% to roughly match the longer track, I simply adjusted levels for each and had a shared bus channel with additional eq and reverb(s), this in turn joins the originals in the master, which also has some lofi fx and more(!) reverb… recorded the output. The track "Sadness" (Beatless Ambient Version) completely strips away the rhythmic anchor, resulting in a work of pure, suspended emotion. Deep feelings are expressed through slow-moving, massive drone textures, and heavily-processed, sustained tones that hang in the air, saturated with reverb and delay.
