Pink Concrete is a Prague-based DJ, producer, and event curator known for his unique approach to techno—blending moody, heads-down grooves with a touch of playfulness. Originally from Istanbul, he honed his skills in production and mixing from an early age before relocating to Prague in 2015. His contributions to the underground scene include founding the party series Kave and Anormal, as well as hereandthere, a concept-driven event series transforming temporary spaces through sound, light, and atmosphere. He also runs Pinkies, a bi-monthly club night at the renowned Ankali. As a producer, Pink Concrete has released on esteemed labels like Children of Tomorrow, Bipolar Disorder, and Ben Sims' Hardgroove, with remixes from industry heavyweights such as Magna Pia, Matrixxman, and Fireground. In 2023, he launched his own imprint hereandthere, further solidifying his impact on the techno landscape.

Pink Concrete describes himself as someone who “does pink touches to concrete music.” This comes through in both his production and mixing style, as he isn’t afraid to add something light-hearted to techno—a genre often perceived as quite serious. His sets travel through a wide range of emotions, always carrying a subtle hint of melancholy. In 2023, he released his standout EP Big Deal on our label, showcasing this unique blend of playfulness and depth in full form.

Originally from Istanbul, his interest in mixing began in high school, where he also started learning music production. In 2015, he moved to Prague, where he has lived ever since. The underground electronic music scene there is full of life and creativity, and his contributions include a small underground party series called Kave, a club night series called Pinkies, and most recently here and there, which curates overnight happenings through sound, light, and temporary one-night locations.

This full EP is dedicated to Frederick Bruce Thomas (1872—1928), often called the Jazz Sultan. Born in Mississippi, Thomas overcame the hardships of post-slavery America and personal tragedy to build an extraordinary life through jazz — from France to Moscow, where he became the first Black Russian citizen, and later to Istanbul, earning his legendary title. The EP honors both his triumphs and struggles, celebrating his role as a pioneer who bridged cultures and left a lasting mark on the European music scene of his time.
