There’s a mystical place in the heart of Rotterdam, oddly tucked in between the corporate buildings. Bright light boards and red velvet carpets, it's a small cinema that still breaths its old-school grandeur. That’s where the Cinerama Adventures project was born, lead by its staff supervisor DJ Overdose. The result are two tracks that go from modern flavored freestyle to sleazy darkroom experiments, both accompanied by the instrumental versions.

Exhausted Modern balances obscurity and clarity with his first full-length debut for Marguerite Records, wearing the familiar hallmarks of the producer’s sound with a determination that makes a home in headphones as easily as it seeds the imagination with images of dance floors swaying under influence of a soundsystem.

Six tracks collectively form a web of energy, flowing from swift movement under the beat of kinetic drums to a staggered inertia, tracing frantically static shapes that grip time still: as some elements of the music rear up forcefully and unobstructedly grim, others merge together in subtlety to form an electric shroud.

This occurs both within tracks and between them — as EP opener ‘Giving form to chaos’ pulses with mutant tropes of electro and full-weight EBM basslines, it also carries a haze of ambience hear far more prominently on ‘The self unselving’’s slow and methodical ride, which in turn is quite distant from purely ambient music without grit or rhythm.

The EP leers out of its own cold gloom, bearing Exhausted Modern’s customary challenge to society’s inequity just under the surface of the smoked ice in the stuttered samples and coded titles. Listeners to Exhausted Modern’s past work will find familiarity and refinement, and newcomers will hear perfectly distilled versions of the sounds displayed like talismans within his work.

This new edition to celebrate the five years of Fill-Lex Records comes with a double edition, it will be the fifth vinyl of the label and its 18th reference on cassette. This time we have Asymmetrical (Giovanni Inglese) owner of our idolized label Raw Culture. An edition that in its vinyl format will have remixes of Sam de la Rosa and Anna Funk Damage, and for the cassette version will be added the remixes of SOJ and Lex-Or.

A concept album that does not leave behind its track-focused side. In its side A we find visceral songs, with broken rhythms, and forceful percussions, with a spectacular treatment of distorted voices, full of strength and power.

On the B side of the album we enter tracks more focused on the dance floor, with that punk attitude, which makes you immerse yourself in their decadent melodies,

PREMIERE // Kutkh Jackdaw - Fires In Your Garden (Anti Yo Remix)

Happy to announce that the first FERMA Vinyl release coming in the form of a VA compilation. “Rites of Passage” is hitting the dancefloors with a variety of different tools and club styles combining deep grooves, electro sounds, rolling basslines and sinister synths.

On A side, Jack Roland pulls the trigger with “Bizzare” showing once again his unbeatable style of production blending mysterious atmospheres with exceptional grooves. Serge Geyzel adds to the mix a unique deep-head track called “Numb” fusing heavy beats with dark ambient colors and metal percussions. 

On the flip side, Vilnius based 5ZYL keeps the energy high with “Keistas Dalykas” which combines a hard-hitting rolling bassline with his personal touch of EBM. The release closes with “System Karma” from the synth-lover Extase Urbaine minimizing the gap between Amsterdam and Athens scenes with his exclusive body music rhythms with trancey pads.

Drakkar Noir is a feceless figure who inhabits this world, an alias shamelessly lifted from a sleazy and long out-of-fashion scent, a brand name derived from a mashup of mythical pretensions and hollow advertising jargon. Part Human and part digital fiction, Drakkar Noir is, like the city itself, a shapeshifter who feeds and is fed by the collective dreams and nightmares floating above the buildings and into smoke-filled skies.

@RechtaufRausch, a music endeavour helmed by a pair of Millennials hailing from Offenbach, Germany, is eager to share their upcoming EP Kuschelrock, following their debut album, "Im Osten geht die Sonne auf" released under Meta Moto. In this new self-released project, they delve into the complexities and challenges of sincere romantic articulation.

Kuschelrock, a term which loosely means Cuddle-Rock, combines the raw emotion of unfeigned lyrics with the tantalizing allure of synth-pop rhythms. This array of tracks subtly weaves in a dash of bitter undertones into its sonic tapestry, creating an intriguing juxtaposition for the listener. But, of course, the experience is best understood when heard personally!
