His production and live performance are focused on dark textures that live and breath under a framework of sturdy drums, built to push air and consciousness through a room. Hailing from Detroit, he remains inspired by the deep electro and techno history of the city and uses that to fuel his work. You may not know him as an electro producer (yet) but with 2019 releases appearing on Elektrodos, Blind Allies, Natural Sciences, Ukonx Recordings, Dionysian Mysteries, Specimen, ZwaarteKracht, and a full-length album on Narrow Gauge—you will be hearing more output from him across the genre continuing into 2020.

We all have our own definitions of what Electro means to us as individuals and this series hopes to share those perspectives with the listeners of Dark Science Electro - Over the last ten years, I have hosted tons of guest mixes featuring DJs from every corner of the globe who I’ve asked to give me their interpretation of ‘@DarkScienceElectro’ for their guest mix. For the second installment of ‘Define:Electro’ we have London-based Irish DJ, Gavin Mac Donagh, AKA @Gamadon, who has been DJing for over 20 years and been an avid Electro fan since the 90s. Gamadon started playing Electro out in Vancouver, Canada in 1999 with the Pound Recordings crew under the alias Dex of Hazzard. He has also promoted and DJ’d at several underground electronic music nights in Ireland and Bermuda. He has supported International acts such as The Prodigy, 808 State and Sunil Sharpe and is currently a resident DJ with Irish collective, Basement Project. Gamadon hosts a monthly live 2-hour video broadcast on @TimelineMusic2, beginning in the end of January 2020. The show is called Warehouse Manifesto, the same name as the label run by Gamadon.

Welcome to the 53th session of Blocaus podcast.   
We receive as guest : Alessandro Adriani

Alessandro is the head of Mannequin Records and the resident dj / curator of the bi-monthly Mannequin Records nacht at Berghain/Panorama Bar. Since moving to Berlin in 2013, he introduced an array of obscure techno, electro, ebm, minimal synth, post-punk and experimental records through his own imprint. His music production is deeply influenced by the use of analog equipment from the 70's and the 80's. His recording studio, based in Berlin, is filled with some of the most amazing synthesizers, drum machines and outboard produced during that period. His dj and production skills brought him to work with music institutions like Berghain, Tresor, Redbull Music Academy, Resident Advisor, Boiler Room, Atonal Festival and so on. In 2019 he started a music collaboration with the electro producer The Hacker as 'Amato & Adriani', followed by a release and an extensive tour around Europe. Aside from his work in releasing forgotten gems and up to the minute synth incantations, Alessandro Adriani has also been quietly issuing out his own music for labels like Mannequin, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Pinkman and Jealous God.
