When Bakongo, the Afro-inspired alter ego of UK Funky pioneer Wayne Goodlitt AKA Roska, dropped his Grind / Tee Oh Ell release on Melé's label, Quadrants, last year, it soon caught the ears of Pinkturban Label Maharaja, Otm Shank. Mesmerized by the sound, Otm put on his finest kurta, donned his celebratory turban, and commissioned the massive Bakongo remix of his track "Bounce".

Now, Bakongo returns to the LA-based label with two dazzlingly pristine Afro-saturated club tracks, "Awe" and "Bout It", that blur UK/US Bass boundaries and showcase Wayne’s second-to-none production powers. Simultaneously, Pinkturban is propelled further forward into defining its unique style of World-influenced dance music.

Pinkturban is excited to welcome Los Angeles-based producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Bryce Lamar to its roster of world-inspired electronic artists with his single, "Hands".

Described by Pinkturban as Hindustani House, “Hands” is a grooving and pulsing 10-minute experience that will make you want to get lost and wander in the desert, looking at the stars.

"Hands" features the mesmerizing Hindustani vocals of internationally renowned Indian classical singer, Pandit Girish Chatterjee, skillfully layered alongside Bryce’s own vocals and masterful production.

As a fourth-generation Indian classical singer and musician, Girish is the direct disciple of legendary vocalist Bhimsen Joshi. Bryce has been studying with Girish for the last two years, taking his music to new possibilities, and with “Hands”, guru and disciple are united.

The release features a remix by Switzerland-based deep house artist Dandara and Mahmoud Gafar returns for more stunning Arabic Square Kufic artwork.
