Since 2011 Huntleys + Palmers delivers dance not dance music that you can’t predict in terms of style, groove, and sonority. Originating from Glasgow, the label is currently operating in London and Berlin. The name firstly has been used since late 2007 by the label's man in charge, Andrew Thomson to promote parties. After a while he and his Scottish friend Brian d'Souza (aka Auntie Flo) decided also to release music under the Huntleys + Palmers umbrella too. And this with the aim to spread exciting new electronic sounds from all around the world, not only from their local peers. So far they have released music from the Glasgow based producer and DJ Auntie Flo as well as many young talents like Alejandro Paz and Mamacita from Santiago De Chile, DJs Pareja and Carisma from Buenos Aires, young UK producer SOPHIE or Berlin based French girl rRoxymore. For Carhartt WIP Radio Huntleys + Palmers main act Auntie Flo mixed a show that takes a look at some of their most haunting releases from the past as well as shading some limelight on soon to be released brand new stuff.

Flying in just a day before Richie Hawtin's flagship Minus imprint ventures back to Room One, this next fabric x Minus Mix comes from a duo hotly tipped for greatness. Hailing from Birmingham, Whyt Noyz are the solid partnership of David Sidley and Duncan Murray, long-time friends whose act in exchanging beats has become the starting point for a strong pursuit. Snapped up by Hawtin early on in their venture, the pairs' twisted and forward thinking techno seems to be on par with the Hawtin's agenda, fitting in perfectly with Minus’s legacy of rolling and effective dancefloor beats. Speaking to the guys ahead of their set this coming Saturday, it's pretty clear that they are more than excited to be a part of Minus' growing heritage, something that will no doubt be illustrated sonically when they join Hawtin and fellow stalwart, Marc Faenger in the Room One booth this weekend.
  
So although advance tickets might be fully sold out (please note that you can still buy tickets on the door) we think there's no harm in helping to ramp up the anticipation for what lies ahead by sharing this new and exclusive mix, a feast of selections that they describe as "the kind of tracks you'd find in the final hour"...

Soul Button - Inner Symphony #005

Jay Tripwire was the only DJ at our Desert Hearts Spring Festival that played 2 sets throughout the weekend. We couldn't be happier about that fact. Jay's first set took place during the worst part of Friday night's freak rainstorm. Unfortunately, it was riddled with technical difficulties as we literally had to cover the DJ booth and all the Funktion-Ones with whatever tarps we could find to protect him from the elements. The next day at high noon, one of our DJs wasn't able to make his set so we knew we had to give Jay a shot at redemption. And we're so glad we did. Jay's redemption set ended up being one of the best of the weekend. So sit back, relax, and take a trip through Saturday day with Jay Tripwire - Live @ Desert Hearts.

It's rather rare when two individuals who've know and worked together for 15 years can preserve a strong synergy and friendship. They share a strong affinity for their art and a common objective, which is more important than any hype or individual pursuit, making Leo and Omar a very special duo!

Leo and Omar of Re-UP find themselves in a very unique position; in an industry that often gives duos a very short shelf life. Both soaked up inspiration from the house scene of the late 90’s, taking in all aspects from progressive, tribal and techno. As the pair worked hard for the years that followed; they realised that although they had separate identities and ideals when it came to the music they loved, the sound that they were beginning to form for themselves as a duo was almost a perfect middle ground. An interesting splattering of sexy house and rolling techno grooves.

A relocation to Barcelona also played a huge part in their growth as artists. During their stay they managed to find their feet in the studio whilst spending invaluable time with established producers like Marc Antona and Marco Resmann. Once the pair returned to Italy they made it their mission to help lead the rise of popular label; Kina Music. It became their musical home and they helped develop a huge span of support from some of the biggest hitters in the industry, whilst still retaining a strong underground profile.

The long running residency at TAG Afterparty has enabled Re-UP to develop and explore their musical direction through the medium of creating different atmospheres. The event has become a huge hit and a “must visit” for both local Italians and visiting club cadets.

With a back catalogue stacked with releases that have destroyed floors the world over, as well as some unreal remixes for pioneers such as TiNi, Tiefschwarz and Miguel Lobo; the scene is set for this to be Re-UP’s break out year.

We recently hit 1000 likes on the MVSON Events Facebook page, and as a thank you to all of those who attend our events and support the MVSON Collective we got Beatport chart topper Wade to record a podcast for the MVSON mix series.

Wade’s forceful style mixes and bright percussion proves to be very effective even on the strictest dancefloors. This year Wade has racked up over 30 tops on Beatport and currently has the support of Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Luciano, Davide Squillace, Matthias Tanzmann, Robert Dietz, tINI, Yaya among many others.

Back in March 2014, SoundPark ran a feature on one of the most successful events in Cairo, Egypt. We were lucky to have Hisham Zahran take the helm for the audio and his debut has been one of our favorites from our entire catalog since. Hisham is a master story teller. His sound is patient, intelligent, and soothing. If you have yet to hear him, today is the day to change that. He has played along side some of the industries best tastemakers (Matthias Meyer, Daniel Bortz, Jody Wisternoff, Blond:ish, Sasse & plenty more). His music had such an impact in our offices that we invited him to come to the US for our very first SoundPark Artist Showcase in Brooklyn, NY for his North American debut in September. Over the next hour, Hisham Zahran authors this auditory tale for this edition of the SoundPark Playground.
