Pinqy Ring takes on Erykah's sexy new song "Phone Down", adding a sassy confidence and sexy flair that would make any man put his phone down!

A city so readily identified as “Chiraq” is a city that needs immediate help, and not from some Brooklyn film director. “Where Do We Go From Here?” is a song that was born in desperation. From 9 year old Tyshawn Lee being lured into an alley and gunned down, to 17 year old Laquan McDonald being shot 16 times by the Chicago Police, the issue of violence in Chicago is a pressing one that Pinqy Ring tackles as a born and raised Chicagoan who has lost many friends to the street battle that ensues everyday. 

The song features the HHW Youth Choir (http://www.hhwperforms.org), and was written and arranged by Pinqy Ring, Wil Diaz and Gabriel Ramirez. The idea came about with the intention of starting/continuing an important dialogue with youth, residents, city officials and the world about our current state. The song doesn't have all the answers, but simply poses the question: Where do we go from here?

Last week Donald Trump was announced President-elect of the United States, and there is no denying that a lot of people are upset, hurt, confused, scared and angry. Revolución - originally written for Pinqy Ring's Second City performance debut - couldn't have come at a better time. 

The track, crafted by RKL - a young up-and-coming producer and musician from Miami, lays the ground work for the song and carries the call-to-action that is needed today. Pinqy uses her platform to prepare the paleteros, the Chicago bucket boys, our ancestors and so many more... She is chanting and rapping for women, people of color, the undocumented, the disabled, the LGBTQ community, the religiously persecuted and all allies to mobilize and create the future WE want and need. 

It's time for equality, it's time for equity, it's time for social justice...

Pinqy Ring is back with a track full of bars - No hook, no nonsense, just hard-hitting rhymes. After a fiery car accident in 2004 left Pinqy in a coma, she set her heart and head on pursuing her greatest desire - become a rapper. Since then this Phoenix has risen over and over again and is ready to take on the music industry. The song, produced by Serdna, was written by Pinqy during her artist residency at Ragdale where she learned ProTools and recorded herself. The bars pay homage to her re-birth, as she spits in Spanish and English giving the vocal proof that she is ready to spar - bar for bar - for the crown.

Phoenix

Feeling like Nobody's Perfect, by J. Cole, lacked a female perspective, (and a verse from Missy - WTF?!), Chicago Puerto Rican Hip Hop recording artist Pinqy Ring decided to take on the challenge of remixing the song and adding her own flair and flavor. Nobody's Perfect - Let's stop acting like we are! ;)

“Tickets” - featuring Waka Flocka’s Brick Squad Monopoly recording artist Bo Deal, is one of two singles being dropped on Christmas day. It shows Pinqy Ring’s mastery of hard bars as well as her suavé Spanish rap. With the assistance from Chicago Music Award nominated “Songwriter of the Year”/B96 Morning Show producer Gabriel Ramírez on the hook and arrangement, the track speaks about selling “woof” or “wolf” tickets, a slang term for lying or fabricating stories. 

“Tickets” is Pinqy Ring’s clear statement that she is one of the real rappers left in an industry where metaphorical tickets are being exchanged or sold shamelessly. But, this lady has certainly set out to show you how she’s different.
