About the guests

@djnoyl - Active since 2003 in the hiphop and turntablism scene where he was able to practise his cuts with the greatest DMC champions, DJ Noyl continues to work in the hiphop realm and still collaborates in projects in Europe and North America, recording scratches on various albums . His deep connection to the music world, led him to join the collective Unlog and co-found the eponym label in 2014 with Famelik and BSLC, an eclectic label of a new genre focused both on the hip-hop heritage of sampled music as well as sound design and experimental music. Accustomed to live performance, his growing passion for future beats, glitch and electronic music later pushed Noyl to turn to production and live PA, using his scratcher background and set-builder skills to create a hybrid music, matching breakbeat rhythms and cinematic influences.

DJ Suncat (@taiyononeko )- Steeped in the deep, Tom Suncat cut his teeth in the warehouses of Montreal before moving on to travel the cosmic dancefloors of the world. It is with great honor and relief that I finally present the House configuration that is, "Homework."

So so SOOOOOO happy to have done this, you may not know, but house music was what got me into electronic music to begin with way back when I was 14ish. To this day Benny Benassi is still one of my favorite artists and I have him to thank for really opening my ears in a way that would allow me to gain interest in electronic music specifically. It's wild, when I first picked up Fruity Loops when I was 15/16 I had no experience, no direction, that was what was cool about it though it was just fun making weird sounds that sounded really really bad but were fun to listen to lol. 

The first genre of music I attempted to make was house music, it was not good at all, but I was having fun. Fast forward cause I'm not telling the whole story here lol. 

HERE I AM TODAY! 15 years later, and I can actually make house music, and I think I might be able to do anything I put my mind to. MAYBE lol

Idk, I'm happy about this though, and I'm really excited to show you guys all the other things I've been working on.

Thank you so much, each and every one of you that's out there (especially if you made it this far) I believe that it's not just me that feels these feelings, it's nice that we can find each other in sound.

Those are the places I want to be reflected in my music.” Patrick Cunningham began the Woadus project with the vision of bringing a natural element to the world of electronic music. Drawing inspiration from folk and world music of all cultures, Woadus evokes a style committed to reconnecting with the earth through music. Channeling the beauty, the power, the provision, and the indifference of our planet and giving it a sound.

Woadus will often venture out into nature to collect audio recordings for his music. “All through history, events of cultural and spiritual importance have taken place out in the wilderness. Deep in a forest, atop the peaks of mountains, on the coast of oceans. There is a power in these places that I try to capture.”

With years of experience playing at several Edmonton venues, releases on DoYu Digital and NVMA Records, several guest features on sub.fm radio as well as CJSW radio’s “What Will the Neighbours Think”, Woadus is now focusing on releasing his debut EP as well as breaking into the western Canada festival scene.
