Over me places us on the beach dancing in the summer sun, on the sand with bare feet with the Balearic rhythms where the guitars and the marimba are the guides. There is happiness, movement and a lot of good humor, released from the warm and engaging atmosphere of the rhythm dictated by organic percussion. This track makes us feel as it is summer wherever we are.
Chemical is a sensual mixture of electronic sounds and has a continuous melodic evolution that embraces the angelic, lonely and melancholy voice of the vocalist. The track creates an imaginary atmosphere of a bygone era. It makes us imagine a large ballroom full of warm and colored lights that caresses our singer who, with her lightness and elegance, calls us to get up, forget everything, and free our bodies in sensual movements.

Popular well known artists such as Canson, Dance Spirit, LUM, El Buho, Matanza, Hraach, and Alejandro Mosso,  alongside fresh new artists like Rodrigo Gallardo, Spaniol, Armen Miran, Niju, V i V i D, Florista, and Peter Power, blend naturally with Sol*Selectas artists such as Sabo, KMLN, Goldcap, and SAAND. 

The track list is a journey itself, going from South American mid tempo, to Shamanic downtempo, to Middle Eastern deep house, to Latin tribal house, to Playa tech, to Ambient cumbia dub. 

Each song represents the multicultural influences of the artists, and shows the diversity of the Sol Selectas sound.  

The artwork by Helia Jamali visualizes the themes of summer and sunshine together perfectly.  This compilation will be released on the 1st day of the Summer Solstice - June 21st. 2016. "

Following separate releases on Day I Dream, Underyourskin Records, and Sol Selectas, Zone+ & Usif collaborated on releases for Akumandra/Underyourskin and Talavera Records before collaborating on “Laya”

“Laya” is another in the impressive Wind Horse roster seamlessly melding house music rhythms, traditional instrumentation from Indian and other world music in superlative production standards. The title track is a meandering jaunt through lush soundscapes, deep grooves, percussive and hypnotic house. Haunting flute, keys, and pads weave contemplative strains throughout. “Aria” is a slappy late-night affair with driving bass sounding sonar depths and building slowly with unexpected vocals and polyrhythmic treatments, mounting new surprise midway through the nearly 10-minute opus. Everything Counts takes us on a deep-seated journey to the western coast of Africa. The coastal village
of Mbodiene is at the core and fora of this picturesque three-part series, started off by the Swiss duo’s
original mix. Half Toshka, half Chris Leon, Everything Counts render quixotic soundscapes, combining
Afro-infused rhythms, earthy percussion and tribal soul into electronic ambience, by grace of melody.
Calabria’s Matt Sawyers joins us and his longtime friends with a reinterpretation of Mbodiene. Teeming
with ethnic dreaminess and soothing progressions, Matteo Cacciola’s mix is a halcyon escape to indulge
our sonic reveries. Yielding a brusque, fiery take on the original, Mozambique’s Double Drop wraps up
MBR418 with a rawer Mbodiene - warm, impassioned and rooted in the rich, resonant grounding of our
mother continent. In this 20:54 minute flight, we dance our way to the destination, and alas, we can just
keep going there.

We couldn’t get enough of the legendary Bonga’s 70’s classic, and just a few months after we
released Pablo Fierro’s remix, we invite Everything Counts to center stage to render their own
interpretation. And of course, the Swiss duo delivered. Swelling on body-binding rhythm and
groove that envelop Bonga’s soulful saudade-saturated lyrics, Toshka and Chris Leon bridge
Jose Adelino Barcelo de Carvelho’s ardent emotions then with the ongoing now, preserving its
timelessness, as their percussion-rich instrumentals, complemented with and augmented by
subtle electronic tweaks resonate Bonga’s rasp so precisely, the Angolan’s vocal timbre vibrates
shivers to our core. Tenderness aside, Everything Counts keeps the temperatures high with this
Afro-Latin infused dancefloor incendiary, wafting cadenced humming, hypnotic beats and
orbicular riffs to steer this 7:31 minute joyride to tropical euphoria.
