ØEN Records is back with a special two track EP from up and coming Copenhagen based producer Fruit (@fruitdj). Originally from Iceland, but based in Denmark, Fruit has been making waves in the Copenhagen club scene with his eloquent DJ and live-sets. Following up his acclaimed 2019 Drømmeland EP he is finally back with two epic, fast-paced and euphoric tracks to light up the summer dance floors.

Drawing inspiration from myths and legends and particularly the Epic of Gilgamesh – a 4000 year old poem from ancient Mesopotamia – “Gilgamesh” is a hypnotic and trancey trip destined for the peak hours of the post-corona parties.

Created during the peak of the pandemic on an old half broken borrowed MacBook, the two distinct but kindred tracks are testament to Fruits unique production style, effortlessly navigating between euphoric fast-paced house, ambient soundscapes, hypnotic percussion and haunting atmospheres. Skillfully crafted and executed “Gilgamesh” is primed for both floor and mind.

The land on which we live, work, and play was stolen from indigenous peoples, and sold by non-indigenous people for profit which has been disproportionately distributed for generations. So it is time to put an end to this and pay the rent that we owe. 
All proceeds will be heading to pay The Rent. A collective based on the lands of the Kulin nation here in Victoria, Australia. It is made up of both indigenous and non-indigenous peoples and is about honouring the sovereignty of Indigenous peoples by distributing rent to local Aboriginal groups at a grassroots level. Where it can be allocated by indigenous peoples, to indigenous peoples for anything from health services, education, arts and culture, housing, legal costs, and more. 
“Paying the Rent is a step towards acknowledging these facts. It is part of a process that all non-indigenous people - individually and collectively - need to enter into if we are to move towards justice, truth, equality and liberation for First Nations people.”

Angst traduz em som a sensação de inquietação e pressão interna sugerida pelo próprio nome. A faixa é construída sobre uma base rítmica contida, porém carregada de tensão, com elementos sonoros que operam em faixas médias e agudas de forma insistente e repetitiva.

O uso de ruídos filtrados, variações discretas e pulsações assimétricas contribui para a formação de um ambiente fechado, quase claustrofóbico, onde a expectativa nunca se resolve completamente. A ausência de picos ou resoluções harmônicas reforça o estado de suspensão contínua.

Angst propõe uma escuta concentrada, em que o desconforto se transforma em matéria estética. A faixa não ilustra o sentimento, mas o encarna — criando um espaço onde o som opera como afeto direto e presente.



Angst sonically embodies the feeling of inner unrest and pressure suggested by its title. The track is built on a restrained rhythmic base, yet it carries a persistent sense of tension, with mid- and high-frequency elements repeating in a focused and insistent manner.

Filtered noise, subtle variation, and asymmetrical pulses contribute to an enclosed, almost claustrophobic atmosphere, where anticipation remains unresolved. The absence of harmonic resolution sustains a suspended emotional state.

Angst invites concentrated listening, transforming discomfort into aesthetic material. The track doesn’t illustrate the feeling — it becomes it, creating a space where sound acts as direct and embodied affect.
