Here are my favorite tracks that I've compiled based on the rekordbox evaluation of the frequency of plays and my personal love for the tracks themselves, and / or the effect on the dance floor. The numbering of the tracks are also the chart positions of the songs.. Musically it covers my style, crazy or witty productions that either have special vibes, melodies or a psychedelic, deep effect. The tracks all have something special. OK EG, AKA Lauren Squire and Matthew Wilson, take intrepid recce’s on a Kalahari debut of fathoms-deep techno minimalism and opiated braindance styles. 

With release titles like ‘Intertidal zone', 'Anther' and 'Prismatic Spring’, their ambition to evoke natural worlds is evident. But these tracks aren’t of this planet. Navigating truly alien terrain, ‘Rivulets’ finds the duo imagining uncharted environments into existence through the medium of analogue hardware. 

This is very much an album of two halves; the first on heads-down tips aimed straight at the dancefloor, with a second plate that veers further into abstraction. That said, they’re all the kind of far-reaching explorations where close listening yields great rewards. 

Between ‘Oxygen Channel’’s cavernous throb and the dub techno-leaning ‘Circular Arc’, the Antipodean duo set their stall out with a widescreen sense of space. Then, ’Rivulets’ comes in strong with the spiralling, trance-inducing gear. Stripped-back, no fuss; proper live improv techno for the most inquisitive souls.

Sending signals into the endless expanse, the second half is a demonstration of OK EG’s versatility. Where ‘Surface System’ and ‘Matched Grip’ further indulge dubby tendencies, ‘Flow Regime’ and closing gambit ‘Endless River’ traverse dreamlike dimensions through breaks and flow state IDM.

A fascinating ambient music project from Barcelona in Spain - together with a DJ friend we listened to the original tracks and we were thrilled. It sounded to me like the early days of Pop Ambient from Kompakt. I decided to keep the theme of mystical soundscapes and create my own interpretation. Listen to it, it's playful modern electronics with a trip guarantee.

Marking their tenth release, Melbourne-based record label Paper-Cuts gear up to issue the highly anticipated 'Blips & Bleeps' album from label boss Dylan Batelic, better known as Radart...Among the standouts is 'Attack', a trip-hop anthem steeped in dubby resonance and bass-heavy kinetics. Like a mothership descending on tranquil waters, it bombards the senses with space-echoed drum patterns, gut-punching basslines and skewed trance frequencies that flicker like neon reflections in midnight puddles. The track sounds like a mind-altering prance, equal parts meditative and subversive, poised to ignite synapses and plunge the audience in a deep dive into the uncanny depths of the cortex.

[PREMIERE] The Message - Shjva | Neptune Discs [2025]

For their first release of 2025, Phase Group return to where they started with new music by label founders MR TC and Lo Kindre, under the moniker of TC LK. Their self-titled debut album marks the first collaborative recordings by the pair to see daylight since the release of the PHASE001 EP in 2019.

Their new album sees the pair reaching for darker and heavier territory, where modulation and delay enact mind-bending effect on warped bass lines, dubbed out breaks and mangled samples.

Album opener ‘Godmanchester’ ominously sets the tone with a distorted acid line floating over stuttering ambient pads as a drum machine struggles to find its way through a gnarled signal chain; the album’s centrepiece comes in the form of a nine-minute-plus epic, ‘TLPTK’, in which a stark dancehall rhythm is paired with a modulating bass drone and otherworldly oscillating arps, while tracks like ‘Aro’ and ‘Bouncy’ present the most club-engaged moments of the record; the former in the form of a glacial electro rhythm, subtly locking into a groove, and the latter through throbbing bass and echoed breakbeats shimmering over spectral drones.

With this new album TC LK offer up a deft manifesto for futuristic, hypnotic sound design that sits somewhere between the club, the afters and somewhere else completely.

TC LK is released in the form of a digital album alongside a very limited amount of 10” dubplates featuring ‘TLPTK’, ‘Aro’ and ‘Bouncy’, hand-cut by Henninspace at Copyshop Studio in Dresden, available exclusively via Bandcamp.

Phase Group will celebrate the release of PHASE008 with a TC LK live show alongside DJ peanut and Rick Shiver at Spanners in London on the 28th of March.
