Our opening set for Matt Lange that we played on Halloween weekend at New York's Santos Party House! Big big big deal for us, we <3 Matt Lange so we were reallly excited for this show. 

We went deep + progressive with this one and made four new edits for this set. Still on a high after having watched Nine Inch Nails live just a few weeks earlier, couple of these edits were Trent-spired: we mashed up NIN's "In This Twilight" with Hot Since 82's superb remix of Booka Shade's "Love Inc"; and Youandewan's super smooth "1988" with How To Destroy Angels' "Drowning". No one's voice suits deep + progressive tunes better than Thom Yorke's hypnotizing falsettos, so we layered Radiohead's "Reckoner" over Meeke's remix of Blend's "Identity", which makes mashup #3. And finally - and probably one of our most fun edits till date - took one of the grooviest records of the year, and gave a little vocal twist with an all-time groove classic: Rudimental - Right Here (Hot Since 82 Remix) vs Groove Armada - I See You Baby.

Brian, as always, made all of this better with really tasteful guitar parts (check out his work on Monkey Safari - Hi Life!), after which he went on to jam with Matt Lange for a few tracks! All this while in a banana suit. Pro.

Wir präsentieren euch, mit Freude und musikalischer Qualität, heute den Thursdcast von Ben Böhmer (Ton Töpferei). Der Podcast ist eigentlich ein Liveset, beinhaltet also nur eigene Tracks von Ben. Viele davon sind in der letzten Zeit entstanden und genau sechs sind sogar unveröffentlicht...uhhhh. Das macht wirklich neugierig, oder? Sehr atmosphärische Tracks, mit gezieltem Aufbau und einem durchgehenden Drumgroove- und Basslineunterbau. Der Sound ist sehr rund, trifft genau den aktuellen Mood der Herbstzeit. Es ist das erste und einzige Set was Ben Böhmer in diesem Jahr veröffentlicht und es gewährt einen kleinen Einblick in seine kommenden Releases.
