Pseudonym Records is a new record label set up by two friends showcasing off-kilter club sounds, with a focus on the ethereal, twisted and broken fringes of UK-indebted dance music. Their inaugural release is the first volume in the ‘Corporeal’ series; providing a mission statement with which Pseudonym Records wish to push forward.
Kicking off the release is Bristol based artist Syz. Hot off the tail of stellar work with Pressure Dome Syz is coming in with a 132bpm bass-driven track, with nods to the drum stylings of UK-funky and the deeper fringes of Bristol’s music scene.

Dirtybird almost never puts out a 4-track EP. But Nikki Nair’s “Power Tool” is an exception we’re glad to make.
Claude VonStroke was recently turned on to Nikki Nair by watching Nala's TV Party on the Dirtybird Live streaming network. She played one of his remixes and immediately VonStroke became infatuated with his sound. A cross between breaks, drum & bass, and old-school Dirtybird vibes, Nikki became an instant favorite. His 4-track EP “Power Tool” is a hot record foreshadowing the label's future direction in 2021 when the rules will get loose and its not all going to be about tech house anymore.

REMINISCENCE EP is their first full 12". A five tracker, with sides split between original Heritage tracks and debut solo material.

'The Cascade' is a debut track from Tribalist. The London half of the two showcasies his solo potential with an electro, breaks, 4/4 hybrid. The opening 2/3's build up in classic breaks fashion before an all out 4:4 tear up. Another one right at home +10% bpm.

Will Saul, DJ/Producer and Aus Music label head primes the 150th release for the longstanding British label with a stellar cover of the 1990 seminal techno record of the same name by Yolanda on legendary label Underground Resistance.

With the original record being one of Saul's all time favorites and UR being a constant source of inspiration it was beyond a dream to get his version fully approved by Mike Banks to celebrate the landmark anniversary. Saul then worked with Berlin based vocalist Gilli.jpg - who has recently worked with Cinthie - to re-vocal Yolanda’s song.

For the eight release of notorious Paris based label Houseum, Ricky Razu buddies up with Marc Brauner to deliver a bustling and bumping EP titled 'Two Of A Kind'. 

The floating pad and melancholic melodies of 'Dinner 4 2' are coming as no surprise for everyone familiar with Marc's recent work. Forward aimed drum patterns are combined with a 303 acid melody that leads thru the track, making it a smooth but still club orientated piece of music.

Nikki Nair (@nikki-nair) rounds off 2020 with a return to Scuffed Recordings for the ‘Trying To’ EP, featuring three new originals and a remix from Hermeth (@hermeth).

Opening the EP with ‘Justtryingto’, Nikki comes straight out of the blocks with a French Touch-esque disco sample giving way to glitchy breaks and weighty bass. Next up is the supercharged ‘Trunk’, an all-out warper clocking in at 150bpm.

On the B-side is ‘cclluubb’, a broken-beat DJ tool which sees Nikki’s trademark vocal sampling carrying along a Baltimore Club-influenced beat. Closing out the EP is Swiss producer Hermeth, who brings a rowdy injection of acid to his remix of ‘Justtryingto’.

Reminiscence EP is the opening vinyl release on Earful of Wax from a massively exciting production duo, @heritage_ds (Movement & Tribalist).


Something of an emerging year for the versatile pair, 2020 saw what is one of the club tracks of the year in The Revelation via Scuffed Recordings. Club support from Oneman, Anz, Peach and Jossy Mistu came before lockdown hit and these guys got to work in the studio. Overdue vinyl features have since come via Plastik People (alongside a legendary DJ Deller classic), Ruffset Records and a Scuffed vinyl sampler which saw The Revelation deservedly pressed to wax.


Concrete Flip is the second from Brighton based Movement, straight from the pre-dubstep/dark-garage era. Crunchy hats and piercing snares provide layers over the wobbly Horsepower lows. Burial like vocals catch the ear at every instance - RnB samples done best.

@jenkemmag and Steel City Dance Discs unite for a high-energy compilation – each team bringing forth two artists of their choosing for a heavyweight bout across 4 tracks.

All four artists are up and coming international-based electronic musicians and DJ’s, regularly releasing records and appearing on the international club circuit (that once was). The combo represents a global take on Electro, Techno, Drum and Bass, and main room rave-style rhythms.

Jenkem Recordings is the music imprint of Jenkem Magazine, a skateboarding and culture platform, based in New York. Jenkem Recordings’ main goal is to continue to push the strong connections between music and skateboarding by finding new artists to support who have a strong connection to both communities.

Steel City Dance Discs is a record label exported from Newcastle, Australia AKA the Steel City. From House to Gabber, there’s no bracket for S.C.D.D.’s racket – the group has maintained a steady flow of genre-spanning records and tapes since 2016. With the members having originally connected through skateboarding, this collaboration between the two groups came as a natural one.
