Next up on Hannah Wants' label this summer is Greek DJ and producer, Mihalis Safras, who joins the Etiquette family making his debut on the label with his brand new, 'Buts' EP. Having forged a name for himself in the Dance community over the last decade, Mihalis' strong work ethos and high-quality productions have found him success on esteemed labels including Sola, Relief, Moon Harbour, Kaluki, Hot Creations, Toolroom, and his own Material imprint, alongside sell-out shows from London to Ibiza and beyond. The 'Buts' EP encompasses Mihalis' signature sound, offering two turbocharged tech house cuts packed with rattling basslines, snappy drums, impactful low-end, sharp percussion, hypnotic synth lines and reverberating chopped vocal licks throughout.

Label favourite Eddy M returns to Solid Grooves with latest single 'Really Really Hot'.

One of the favourites for many amongst the Solid Grooves family, Eddy M is a name that always features as one of the most-loved talents in the scene. With his blend of slick, crisp beats fused with samples and influences from hip-hop through to disco, the Italian's unique style has seen him build on early hype and continue to deliver huge peak-time anthems. That talent is on show again here as he returns to Solid Grooves with 'Really Really Hot' to close
out 2021.

Laying down sharp percussion and sweeping synths, 'Really Really Hot' builds amongst hooky vocal samples and vibrant bass licks to showcase yet another trademark production from Italian as he rounds out 2021 in style.

Five more cunning house essentials and club bubblers from Clarisse Records, in time for when summertime starts peeking over the horizon and suitcases get dusted down… 
 
First up is Karretero’s ‘Chamo’, inviting you to join one of Clarisse’s many deep bass merry-go-rounds and with catchy vocal hooks pushing you through to the next level. A perfect starting point for an evening’s festivities, the Madrid master does minimalism that’ll rock a monster soundsystem.   
 
Manu Medina’s ‘Lick Ma’ is all about the ear-shocking vocals that’ll twist your body into submission: one for the crowds getting down and dirty in the moment, as the beats roll out of Barcelona when that super-strength shot of liquor kicks in.

The calm after the storm comes from Rowhle & Luca Cucullo, whose declaration that ‘Mama Was Queen’ is a smooth and altogether more gentle club groove from Italy. With a garage-style skip and almost child-like innocence - the way the loops rotate faintly like a fairground ride - lyrically ‘Queen’ comes off as some thoughtful scientist explaining how to get the dancefloor ready. 
 
Belgrade must-check Un Padre has a spicy one on his hands with ‘Picante’. Percussion played with frisky fingers, with bounce and electronic nature at work, this one goes deeper back into the dry and sticky areas of the dancefloor, with a stream of thirsty lyrics briefly blasted by a cold echo of a breakdown.  
 
Vidaloca is back on the scene; having already reached the ‘Next Level’ with Clarisse, ‘One Night in Bucharest’ is the next target for the Barcelona star. A shadowy house rhythm full of technological rattles and sense of trying to stay one step ahead of those giving chase, everything comes together on an epic breakdown, completing another cool quintet.

Next through the door at NoExcuse Records is Deeper Purpose with his 'Love Medicine' release. The up and coming producer serves us an original that is married up with a killer remix from Tech House mogul Max Chapman; both tracks are set to cause some serious damage respectively upon release.

Opening the show with the original from Deeper Purpose, it features a strong NoExcuse vibe. Plenty of robust drum work and catchy percussive elements that build progressively throughout the track are just the mere surface level components, underneath that you can find the heart and soul of Love Medicine. No doubt one of the catchiest vocals you will hear all summer, accompanied by a rich, roaring bassline.

The remix from Max Chapman is just as enjoyable, a chugging, peak-time Tech Groover loaded to the ceiling with his trademark sound. A strong accomplice to the original, offering a bouncier approach with tight drums, fetching melodics and plenty of Max's punch in the forehead style drops (cue the epic drum fills & snare builds!).

A modern Tech House release that packs a mighty punch from one of the most promising talents in the game currently, followed up by undoubtedly one of the godfathers of the UK scene.

The groove-laden three-track release represents a clear departure from the darker techno
sound of TRICK’s maiden release ‘Watch What Ya Doing’ - further demonstrating Topping’s
versatility as a producer. Kicking off proceedings, the EP’s title track is underpinned by an
infectious vocal sample and the funkiest of beats. While over on the B-side, ‘Let Wa Gan’ is a
darker, moodier number and ‘Galaxy’, featuring the scintillating vocals of Liset Alea, is a
celestial melodic stomper. The collaboration with Liset came about after Topping heard her
vocals on Alex Kid’s ‘Don’t Hide It’. The track quickly became a staple in his sets and he
made the decision to reach out to the Cuban-born singer shortly after.

The first artist other than label head Patrick Topping to release on TRICK, his Geordie compatriot Adamson delivers an eclectic mix of tracks. The EP opener and title track, ‘Electric Acid Tater Tots’ is an acid-soaked techno slammer, strung together by Elliots own robotic vocals. Skream then steps up to deliver the labels first ever remix, a trippy, high-energy workout, before the Electric Acid Tater Vox offers a stripped-back vocal version which is available exclusively on the vinyl. Over on the B-side, ‘NYC Dada’ is an infectious disco-house edit destined to fill countless dancefloors, then ‘11am in Brisbane’ delves into melodic techno waters.  

The record is also accompanied by two exclusive bonus tracks. Lesgo Lesgo Lesgo is a true techno odyssey and bonus purely for digital copies of the EP. Then, there is the Electric Acid Tater Tots (Acid Mix), a secret dubplate that has only been sent out to a select number of DJs. A true weapon for the warehouses.

“I don't recall writing the lyrics, but I like to believe they appeared in the notes in my phone delivered by some divine spirit via the medium of an Apple iPhone XR - cheers Steve,” Adamson jokes. “About four instrumentals existed for about four weeks and I would often find myself standing on the table at parties singing out the lyrics excitedly trying to explain that 'this is my song.’”

Championed by the likes of Paul Woolford, Annie Mac and Patrick Topping, Adamson is a young artist sitting on an impressive body of work. He’s previously released on DJ Haus’ Unknown To The Unknown, Man Power's Me Me Me and his own IDEA imprint, with no fewer than three albums already under his belt.
