The brainchild of two lifelong friends, HOTBOX presents its sonic manifesto through a debut VA compilation. In Sonic Sauna, the two label heads Maikee & Nathan Boost pair up with Mtty & Pistaccio and deliver four sonic concoctions to hot your box from side A to B. Each artist has its own take on the HOTBOX. From the adventurous A-side brimming with emphatic melodies, to the more eerie B-side where ominous basslines take center stage. Some tracks don’t arrive - they unfold, slowly and with intention, like sunlight creeping across a floor. Swallow, the B1 cut from Pistaccio’s upcoming EP "The Brave Gardener" on Kepler’s Perspective imprint, is exactly that kind of presence. Calm but playful, deep yet unpretentious, it doesn’t kick down doors - it slides in through the side, smiling like it knows the rhythm better than you do.

Emerging from Sydney’s fertile underground and already known for releases on tastemaking labels like Magic Carpet, Pistaccio may be a new name to some, but his groove is seasoned. “Swallow” is a testament to that. Anchored by a fluid, rolling bassline that moves like ink across water, the track drips with finesse. It whispers UK Garage in its inflection - a nod more than a reference - with subtle vocal chops fluttering in and out like half-caught thoughts on a breezy afternoon.
