Formula Records burgeoning F2 imprint returns, this time around representing new UK talent Mind Of A Dragon, who comes through with two future leaning garage mutations. ‘Illusion’ is modern 2-step roller built on solid foundations of honed snare hits and skipping bass pads with a rhythmic bounce that’s shot through with a swing worthy of classic Ghost material. Meanwhile ‘One More’ is a stuttering mix of stripped drums and conversational loops, with a full on one note bass attack that punches through a speaker at volume. Two new developments on the garage template that beg to be run through a high quality rig, the latest from F2 encapsulates all that was great about turn of the century steppers whilst keeping things moving.
