Dimitry Liss is now a very regular and popular fixture at Piston. Here he shows off his latest works via a superb four tracker entitled "Electric Boogaloo Street Tapes" complete with awesome track titles!

First up we have deep organic vibes with "Pimptastic Waterloo" which intros with a cool filtered percussion and count in before getting into a classic electro type arrangement. This track oozes street and is backed up with an array of classic vocal samples and some classy deep house keys, absolutely pimptastic indeed!

"Electromagnetic Cheerleader" sends out a powerful deep groove with a superb bassline over a true house styled drum arrangement. Warm, lush keys are a big focus here but the vocal work is outstanding as it brings the vibe to life and forces you to move, top stuff and a track that will see a lot of attention for sure.

"Chocolate Dealer" raises the bar and the tempo with a much more upbeat and club fuelled vibe. Cool, crisp hats and real thumpy kick build up a steady rhythm. The bassline thunders in and brings with it a cool funky undertone, the vocals and FX add a nice flavour rounding up a stunning slice of house music. One to watch!

"Fluffernutter Buttercup" takes us deeper into the vibe with a strong and solid deep house groove. Real nice rolling bassline with accompanying drums and percs keep the rhythm flowing. Dimitry's talents in vocal cutting, sampling and arranging really shine through here, simply stunning!

Piston Recordings Radioshow #7 - 9th October 2013 - mixed by Rogerio Martins

Debut appearance on Piston for Prague based producer Limyth aka Martin Vejvoda. "Reminiscence EP" comes with three superb deep house offerings.

"Reminiscence" kicks us off in style with a classic bass drum and deep house chord structure featuring sublime stabs. The rhythm builds nicely with crispy pure hats and claps before warm keys come through alongside a very cool bouncing bassline. Sweet melodic sequences add contrast and make this track a definite must have in any deeper set.

"Freeway" picks up the pace with solid flowing rhythm as the kicks and percussions begin to form. Warm and lush keys maintain a big focus throughout the track, melodies soon build and deep house bliss is reached. The bassline grabs attention with strong plucky sounds and ties the track up brilliantly.

"Formal Cause" is a deeper tough edged track with superb bass patterns and tight drum arrangements. This is contrasted by truly wonderful sweeping synth pads and expertly crafted melodic keys that weave intricate throughout, amazing stuff and definitely one to watch.

Limyth - Reminiscence (Original Mix)

Sardinia born DJ and producer Mend makes a debut appearance on piston with this three tracker entitled 'Metroplex EP'. Mend has been into music from a very early age and has performed all across Europe at various events. He has released on labels like Deep Plastic Records, Vida Recordings and Clatter Records to name just a few.

Firstly we have the title track, 'Metroplex' which goes straight to the deeper side from the off with a wonderful well rounded kick and percussion combo. A deep bass rises from the depths to captivate the sound and settles in for a hell of a ride. Some quality FX add texture to the sound and very cool synth work sits well alongside the odd chord, sublime stuff!

'After On The Roof' keeps well within the realms of deep house goodness as on the intro a brilliant synth drone sits behind a cool kick and percussion arrangement. The bass soon follows and gives the track a new depth with hypnotic qualities. Subtle FX ease their way through giving the impression of a vocal sample which is very cool indeed. Top notch stuff!

'Watergate' sets the grooves flowing with a very cool intro including some retro styled percussions. The bassline fires up the track to perfection as it cascades through the sound. Cool vocal samples and simple one hit synths in just the right amounts add textures to the sound. Wonderful deep house vibes here, not to be missed.

Mend - Metroplex (Original Mix)

Piston Recordings is back on plastic with its third vinyl outing. "Ghetto Tales EP" delivers four superb deep house cuts from top quality artists including label boss Rogerio Martins, JR From Dallas, Dimitry Liss and J.Cub.
First up is Piston head honcho Rogerio with his wonderfully deep "We Need To". This track gets right down to business with a super tight arrangement filled with chunky kicks and crispy hats. It's hard to sit still as the track builds with suave deep house chords, cool vocal samples and later on sweeping pads that binds the track up brilliantly.
J.Cub aka UK based DJ and producer Jacob Kelly debuts on Piston with the deeply delightful "Don't Stop". The track has a very distinct deep flavour form the off, cool snares are accompanied with equally cool vocal samples and a throbbing bassline that will have any floor shuddering. A strong solid groover with a gritty edge, top stuff.
The very popular Dimitry Liss is up next with his multi faceted track "Pimptastic Waterloo". Dimitry has a knack for combing raw, urban vibes and deep house grooves, which he does brilliantly. Cool and sophisticated house chords are married with a very street fuelled beat with a host of classic vocal samples thrown in, superb!
JR From Dallas aka Jerome Asselin completes this package with the energetic "Down Society". Deep house vibes are evident but with an injection of pure energy which gives it a unique flavour. Lots going on here with a tight arrangement tying things up beautifully. The bassline pounds the senses and distant vocal sounds add texture to the vibe, top notch!


02 J.Cub - Don't Stop (Original Mix)

Canada based duo Hassen Kamal and Omar Bakir make up In2Deep. The guys have been around the music industry for years now and have performed alongside top jocks at top clubs all around Montreal. They have an impressive release list across many labels and are founders of Null Music. Here we see the guys debut on Piston with the superb "Black EP".

First up we have the title track "Black" which is a wonderful journey through the darker side of deep tech house. Flowing rhythms are brought to life with a cool thumping kick backed up with some very cool percussions. The bassline is a tough, gritty affair and this sits perfectly with female spoken vocal that dominates throughout, keep your ears trained for some classic dialogue from an outstanding iconic movie.

"Walk It Off" takes us into the realm of the club with a brilliant upbeat funk fuelled belter of a track. Nice and simple classic kick, hat and percussion intro with the bassline making a cool entrance and settling into a steady rhythm. On the break some classy house chords make an appearance before powering back into this solid slice of deep house, just brilliant.
