Healing is a process that deserves to be taken at your own pace, on your own time.

Own Time

I am thrilled to be releasing this song on the @chrysaliscollective Coordinates compilation! This is a very special project focusing on storytelling through soundscapes within specific keys and lacking the typical structure and fixed on-the-grid tempos you see in most modern songs. It was a wonderfully open-ended creative experience and I'm honored to be a part of the release.

The unconventional themes here gave me the perfect opportunity to create from an extremely pure place. I threw out almost all concepts of being approachable at all or thinking what's 'too much' or 'not enough' while making this song. Instead, I focused on telling a story of profound feelings that I only recently learned to appreciate.

It can be so automatic for me to push away my difficult or "bad" emotions while obsessively chasing the easy or "good" ones. This has always created a lot of imbalance in my internal world, which I believe then gets reflected on to the external world in a dysfunctional way. The All Everything is an intense rebellion to the idea of latching on to specific feelings. It's not just about enduring the full spectrum of emotions and experiences that occur to us, but celebrating that full spectrum. I've found that trying to embrace the difficult things in this way gives me a greater sense of peace in life. Not necessarily wallowing in it or glorifying it, but just approaching it with compassion, curiosity, and acceptance. This shift has taught me a lot about myself and the inner wisdom I never realized I had. Ironically, this has made those difficult times more bearable and less frequent. I spend much more time feeling truly in-tune with myself and the world around me.

The All Everything is about curiosity, anxiety, confusion, fear, courage, helplessness, despair, doubt, death, pain, destruction, self-destruction, creation, endurance, compassion, acceptance, love, comfort, beauty, connection, awareness, playfulness, and lots of other qualities between. It's designed to be a meditative listen where you put it on fairly loud, close your eyes, and listen the whole way through while paying attention to what feelings come up in your mind and your body.

I hope at least a few of you resonate with this experimental, highly symbolic song :)
