Joining Pitch Dark for PDR003 is Canada's Huck Farper. 

For those who don't know, Huck is a very prolific producer in his own right and through collaborations. Most notably with Bone Skippers, alongside one of the Pitch Dark label heads, Kenny Campbell. 

He also runs Raven Sigh. A label and podcast series with a regular and quite devastating output. 

For this release he delivers 4 tracks of no holds barred techno. 

Just Say Nah sets the tone. Pounding kick drums and heavily distorted percussion are the order of the day for 5 minutes of relentless hammering. 

Prosperity is a little more dance floor focussed, crisp percussion sits on top of a heavy kick drum, distorted bleeps fills the space around, with dark and twisted stabs sit alongside menacing growls. 

Puncture continues the theme from Prosperity, with more more bleeps breaking through the low level pounding kick drum. 

Finally, Sour Toe Cocktail is straight up Huck Farper. Irregular kick patterns, machine noise and twisted vocal samples hiding in the bleak, industrial darkness. 

This release is not to be taken lightly.

Ercan has already released on the illustrious Hard Electronic so we are delighted he chose Pitch Dark for this release. 

This thing bangs from start to finish. 

Loaded with not so subtle distortion throughout, with the odd blood curdling scream to keep you on your toes. This is a weapon, use it wisely. 

On remix duties is the versatile Nekrokick. Another Hard Electronic artist, who has previously remixed label man Kenny Campbell's Sex Track on Raven Sigh. 

His remix is more dance floor friendly, in the same way Pennywise the Clown was child friendly. 

This whole release is dark, heavy and guaranteed to burn a whole in the dance floor and your eardrums.

Oscar Mulero’s contribution to the Token catalogue goes all the way back to 2008. The ferocious Take Seven EP  was the start of a longstanding partnership between the label and artist. Between this first release and the more recent Suborbital Trajectories EP, Mulero also provided Token with 2 releases as Spherical Coordinates, producing sophisticated big room and bleep tracks.
Through his lengthy and prolific career, Mulero has not contented himself with producing dancefloor tools alone. The full-length Perfect Peace, released in March this year on Semantica, demonstrates this well, with Autechre and Aphex-flecked IDM and electronica sounds dominating the work. 
 
The new Electric Shades EP also has elements of this extra depth. The record opens and closes with sci-fi theatrics: Electric Shades throbs and pulses under eerie space atmospherics, while Dying Asteroid sonically details the demise of a small celestial body in clinical detail. But this record also operates with the solid functionality of Mulero’s earlier work. The Voyage is agitated and bleepy, while heavy roller Signal Trace plays deeper with similar themes. Triad and Extension too are weighty highlights, affording the record plenty of utilitarian benefit for DJs and home listening enthusiasts alike.
