Em Jay was one of the first people I met partying in Vancouver, and was a huge help early in my own DJ career. A music purist and a loyalist to the underground if there ever was one. 

He takes you on a groovy ride on this mix, sticking with minimal gold -- tracks you would be hard pressed to find on your own.

On this week's episode, we are thrilled to have on for the second time, friend of the show, HC co-captain and all-round top g, PixelFilter. 

PixelFilter's innate ability to immerse himself in sound has allowed him to create an extremely diverse portfolio of mixes, but if there is a constant, it is his drive to represent where he comes from. The underground electronic music scene is thriving in the motherland, and it is about time to the world took notice. On this episode, PixelFilter has featured underground music exclusively from artists from India who are proudly carrying the flag, while staying away from the musical stereotypes people can often fall into. 

PixelFilter flows between a minimal, hypnotic techno sound -- most commonly associated with the bunkers of Berlin -- and a trance-y, rave-y one that is synonymous with the techno underground of India. 

Just press play, close your eyes, and allow yourself to be transported back and forth between Bombay and Berlin, as PixelFilter weaves his magic with extreme precision, diligence and discipline that one can come to associate with his sets.

Hyperbolic Chamber #17: From Bombay to Berlin with PixelFilter

In keeping with our recent trend at the channel, we are back with another fast-paced, peak-time mix orchestrated by HC boss ĀMAN.

For anyone that has listened or danced to ĀMAN’s sets before, you would know that he tries his utmost to emulate those that he takes inspiration from. The deepest draw for ĀMAN is that indescribable 90s sound. It is a sound that is very distinct, that was created in the sweaty warehouses across Europe where ecstatic dancers grooved to musical soundscapes played primarily on vinyl, all united in the act of letting go. The 90s rave sound wasn’t defined by a genre, it was always about the collective experience, primarily about letting the music flow and do its thing.

Despite never actually have gone to a rave in the 90s, ĀMAN’s obsession with that era of music is pinched from art, literature and films from the time, combined with accidentally stumbling upon the modern day electronic music subculture that champions this sound. Labels and artists that aren’t intent on elbowing their way into spotlight; they are more so advocates for a very unique, quintessentially “rave” sound that ĀMAN just cannot get enough of.

And so in an attempt to recreate that very unique vibe, ĀMAN is here to headline episode 19. As always, ĀMAN blends a variety of genres together without ever letting the music lose its momentum. Expect a cocktail of deep techno, trance, progressive, acid, electro and breaks, all mixed in to keep you shuffling through as you go about your day.

PixelFilter cuts through the noise with a sound born from distortion, discipline, and pure energy. A former metal guitarist turned audio engineer/programmer, his path into electronic sound was never straight — it was forged through years of crafting, breaking, and reshaping sonic textures. 

Two distinct forces drive his music. One side dives into the raw, hypnotic energy of underground Techno — shaped by late-night dancefloors, industrial textures, and stripped-back rhythms. The other taps into his cultural roots, channeling the vibrant spirit of South Asia through infectious, groove-driven Indo House. Separate sounds. Same pulse.
