What a collab - two artists of such talent!

A really enjoyable track and so well produced. Sarah, as always your vocals are gorgeous.

“Affinity” by André and Sarah is a shimmering synthwave collaboration that blends nostalgic textures with heartfelt vocals — a sonic embrace of emotion, memory, and magnetic connection.  From the first warm synth swell, Affinity invites the listener into a world where retro-futurism meets emotional sincerity. The track is built on a foundation of lush, analog-inspired synthesizers  — which give the arrangement its glowing, vintage character.  Sarah Golding’s vocals are the soul of the piece: clear, expressive, and melodically fluid, they glide effortlessly over the instrumental, adding layers of intimacy and longing.   Percussion is subtle but effective, driving the rhythm without overpowering the melodic elements. The mix is spacious, allowing each synth voice and vocal phrase to breathe — a testament to André’s skill in balancing texture and clarity.  Firmly rooted in synthwave, the track evokes neon-lit streets, late-night drives, and cinematic nostalgia.

I love the ’80s vibes with today’s twist. The chorus line is catchy and strong. Great sound choices and mixing — a really well-produced song!

In August 2025, Sarah Golding wrote to me that she really liked my
instrumental track "Those Times Are Gone",
released 3 years ago, and was interested in writing some lyrics for it.
I was immediately excited by the idea, as I'm a huge fan of Sarah's
catchy and genre-spanning voice.
However, at first, I couldn't imagine how well it would work with a
pre-produced instrumental track.

After Sarah wrote the lyrics and we exchanged the first drafts,
it was clear that it worked very well.
Since the track got a new twist, thanks to Sarah's great lyrics,
a new title was obviously needed.
Now we are delighted to present our first colab: "Affinity !"

"Synthetic Pain“ is not an ordinary song – it is a weapon, a mirror, a strike to the heart.
A voice, born artificial, sings the words I forged. It is cold, built from steel and code – yet it carries emotions that can only rise from a human abyss. Love that tears apart. Hate that poisons. Desire that can never be fulfilled.
Maybe you hate the machine because it sounds too real. Maybe you hate me for using it. Maybe you hate yourself for feeling what you never wanted to feel.
But maybe you love it for the same reason. Maybe in this synthetic voice you find something haunting – because it touches you even though it should not live.
The voice in “Synthetic Pain” was not sung by a human – it was created by me.
With ACE Studio I shaped a synthetic female voice, but every note, every melody line, every phrasing comes from my own hands. The AI only provides the vocal instrument, the raw material. Expression, dynamics, emotion – all of that comes from my design, my melody, my lyrics.
It is not random – it is craft. The machine only sings because I command it to breathe, to break, to whisper, to scream. Without me, it would remain silent, cold, and worthless.
„Synthetic Pain“ proves one thing: hate and love are twins, born from the same heartbeat. Artificial or real no longer matters – only the wound that remains.

About “Flickerstorm (Album Version)”
This track was inspired by the sounds of New Order and Echo & the Bunnymen that kept playing in my head under the moonlight.
I blended those influences with the dub and electronic elements I deeply admire, and it became the very first track I completed as Olttaoff.

Under my previous artist name, my works leaned more toward electronic downtempo. Over time, however, I realized that post-rock is an essential part of my identity, which led me to create this piece. In many ways, it feels like a return to my roots while moving forward.

It also marks a turning point in my process — shifting from hardware-based production to working fully in DAWs. The TR-909 featured on the artwork represents that transition, as well as a tribute to Roland, the iconic maker from my hometown in Japan.

This track is deeply inspired by the sounds of the 80s, a decade of music that has always moved me. I tried to capture that feeling with heartfelt saxophone lines and drums that you can really feel. 🎷 My hope is that it brings you a sense of nostalgia and energy.
