I finished making this project in the summer of 2023, but somehow i feel like recently i found my way.
 
This project was made as a few remixes at the start but quite quickly I realised that it felt like it could be a lot more. I took the next block of time to fully dedicate myself to this as a project. I immersed myself in Nipsey Hussle’s music and his interviews (which birthed the idea for the interludes as he was wise beyond his years). I love the Marathon philosophy of his and I wanted to add my own contribution to his legacy by breathing new life into some of his music. 

I am presenting this project with the upmost respect for Nipsey Hussle and his legacy, his family, his lyrics & his philosophies. his music will live forever and I know my contribution will only be a drop in the ocean but feel like I have to share this. 

This project serves as my own mission statement for how I intend to introduce myself into this treacherous landscape of music, the sounds I am trying to introduce, the feelings i am trying to capture and how I wanna do this my way and carve my own lane out. I hope the level of care, time, love and attention to detail shine through on here. This project is not tiktok friendly, it's not viral, it flies in the face of all things current in the music industry and i do not care. I'm following my heart. This is art, this is music, this is forever. 

I hope you enjoy this project and I hope you live with it and let it live with you, I hope you get something from it and I hope you know that the Marathon never stops…
